Show me the MONEY! That’s what truly matters. I’m sure Neff is working back channels to do everything he can to get us out of this Conference. UNC & FSU are doing the same. ACC= Titanic.. and the Iceberg is approaching fast.

I agree with you 100% with the exception of one thing, you say that the Iceberg is approaching fast, I say that the ACC made slight contact with the Iceberg when the ACC brought Cal, Standford, and SMU into the ACC bc those 3 teams done absolutely nothing as far as strengthening the Football side of the ACC. The only thing that those 3 teams "may have" done was to strengthen the ACC by about 5% of being a TRUE Basketball conference.
I have prayed for only the good things for our conference for many years as to becoming a legit FB conference to no avail, and the only thing the ACC has done was to strengthen it's self as a legit basketball conference, and I do believe that if our beloved Clemson don't soon find a FB conference to align with, we will sink deeper into the ACC without any hope of remaining a power FB school....

He says a lot with a lot of word salads that really tell you nothing lol. I’m thankful we have him and I believe he will be a good athletics director for a long time to come.
In his position you can’t give anything away, promised the SEC and ACC he wouldn’t let the Tiger 🐅 out of the door until it’s announced.
It’s coming soon though!

… he mentioned the ACC, but also mentioned being involved in everything about “THE CONFERENCE WE ARE IN” … which means the ACC for now, but there was no comment about how long the ACC would be “the conference we are in”. 😄

The future is uncertain, but Clemson is actively exploring the possibility of leaving the ACC. I understand the nature of his job and responsibilities, but he could have just said that.

I thought I read from some experts on here that it was supposed to happen this past October. They seemed pretty confident about it.

Neff has done nothing or said anything that convinces me that he is really sure what will happen to ACC or Clemson in the near future. IMO, all that Neff does is wag his tongue with emptiness coming from his words!!!

Neff must get paid by the word. In plain speak, Clemson is staying in the ACC, content to dwell in football mediocrity, hoping that fans will show up regardless of the product on the field or court. He is probably right. As long as the team struggles against formerly inferior competition, this is probably where they belong. The SEC and Big 10 will continue to get the best players. Frankly, I’m ok with that as long as we win the ACC, which we should be able to do when FS departs. I don’t think the slide to the middle of the ACC pack is a permanent thing.

Please, I beg you to please tell me just what it is that Clemson gains by winning the ACC besides respect, because we all already know that we aren't respected by any FB school when we win the ACC in FB, and that's bc any ACC school can win the ACC in FB about any given year!!!

Translation: Folks, be patient. We're doing everything we can to get out of this conference as quickly as we can. And, trust me, it will be long before 2036 when we do get out. We're working on it every day. We're making progress. It may not be tomorrow, but it will be sooner than later.

I take all this doublespeak as basically saying, "we're working to get out of the ACC as quickly as we can". Until then, bear with us.

Never heard so much corporate speak in all my life. I understand he needs to be positive about everything for the optics of it, but you can tell that was a very standard response. Just like every board meeting ever, or monthly P and L reviews. LOL. Any CEO ever would tell you how great a company is even if they just declared bankruptcy. Listen to FoxBusiness or Bloomberg and you can hear Neff's response 30 times. I learned a long time ago you don't have to be smart to be a CEO you just have be able to talk in circles. Public Speaking is a skill worth its weight in gold.

What scares the H E L L out of me the most is that South Carolina is a small state, and with USUC in the SEC, Clemson's value to the SEC only adds small change to the SEC as far as Dollars & cents, and the Big see's exactly what the SEC see's as value by adding Clemson with USUC already being a long time member of the SEC. The SEC would have to boot USUC if VALUE was what they expected from Clemson as an SEC school. If a strong FB program with tradition is what the SEC is after, Clemson would be a perfect institution to add to the SEC!!!!

Although SC is small, the upstate was ranked like #1 or #2 in CFB viewership a couple of years ago, numbers like that has to be attractive to both the SEC & BIG

Everyone seems to be obsessed with the revenues that the BIG10 and SEC are bringing in. I get it - the disparity is alarming- but I applaud Clemson for seemingly taking the long view. When the playoff expands to 12 teams, all of those payday seekers from the Big 12 and Pac 12 may be getting a temporary boost in revenue- but their path to the playoff all but disappears. You think SC, or Oregon is going to dominate a Big 10 schedule? Or Texas and OU in the SEC? They'll be lucky to sniff the playoffs more than once in the next decade - especially if conference champs get an automatic bid. All those teams will be hard-pressed to avoid 2 losses a season minimum...and at large bids aren't ALL going to those 2 conferences...
Eventually, the ACC contract will either improve, or the entire landscape will implode and be rebuilt. In the meantime, I like our chances at multiple playoff appearances before any of those schools get there once from their new digs.

.....gives off different meanings. And I'm not being critical, what else could he say since there's nothing really to say yet? But I interpreted his message to be the ACC is a top conference and we're going to be in it for a while. I didn't read anything that sounded like either of the 2 other conferences have made any moves towards Clemson.
In time, all will be revealed...

The ACC is a joke and about to get even worse. Clemson is stupid for not leaving and joining the SEC.
Very stupid.
