Roseanadana is one of my ole time favorites from the Rowan & Martin laugh in TV shows from the good ole days when TV was worth watching, and when abusive language was never allowed like today teaching our pre-school kids a full line of course words before they start pre-school. And the people who make and enforce the laws are totally clueless of what's happening with the youth of today, and I know they are clueless bc they are always asking what is going on the the young people....

allowed to compete for basketball championships. The perception that Clemson is only a football school is only perpetuated by this shameful snub. Because when Clemson MBB is actually “good”, that only fits the media narrative that the ACC has to be having a “bad” year. Because what else could it be?? The blatantly biased committee can’t wrap their minds around the fact that Clemson actually assembled a decent team this year. They only see what they want to see, ignoring facts like the actual record, ACC record, who we beat 3x(!!!), and pick and choose their favorites. Clemson can’t be allowed to compete.

Always the same for Clemson, just like Football!
We MUST win on the court, or they will leave us out! We got robbed this year, but we were not a championship contender. I hate it for the players, not me.
Would we have gotten in beating UVA? We’ll never know!
Go Tigers!

A win over UVA would probably had the same outcome bc the main thing they looked at was who we loss to bc it's clear who we beat, or the number of wins had no baring on the NCAA Committee for slamming the door on a pretty good team IMO...

Maybe the losses to some of the worst team in Div 1 might explain how we get snubbed. Teams that have questionable schedules don't lose to teams ranked in the 300's like Loyola, U-Coots, and definitely don't lose to horrible teams like Louisville late in the season when team is healthy.
I am not surprised we didn't get in but I hoped!

They won more over the teams that made it, than they loss to a few bad teams. If that's the reason they used to keep Clemson out, then we should just play the bad teams to see how good we are. If we beat those few bad teams, we're in....

Yeah how about CLemson Managemnt stepping up for a change and stick up for Clemson Basketball? Not talking about the coach but the Athlectic Director and everyone above who would give their soul to win a football championship The NCAA knows they can snub CLemson and no price to pay. Jus think is UNC snubbed under similar circumstances.

Having our history of disappointment with Brownell couldn't have helped. This program can't do any better than they did this year with him. So if we want to get competitive, we need new leadership and a new narrative for the program.
But I'll never be able to rationalize NC State getting in and not us when we beat them THREE times.

1) weakest the ACC has been in a long time 2) best team he's had at Clemson
Still can't be a decisive tournament team - he needs to be gone if we actually want to care about basketball at the very least.

100% correct on this!!! No way in hades do the teams we walked several times during the year deserve a bid over us. Losing to the coots was totally unacceptable and the other HORRIBLE loss was, too. Brownell just doesn’t seem to be able to keep the teams he has coached focused. I expect us to retain him, but there’s a saying that comes to mind “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always gotten, and so it is with Brownell.

we outscored NC State by 65 pts. Total BS for them to get in over us.
Obviously with our complete dismantling of NCSt not once, but 3Xs, the committee has no interest in selecting the best teams. Also, we won 4 Q1 games, NCSt went 1-6. Pretty laughable!

If you didn’t know that the selection process was totally corrupt before you surely know it now. You can bet the farm that if UNcheat had Clemson’s resume they would be in. Probably with a top 7 seed.
Pitt? NCSU? Clemson is 4-0 against those two teams. This is total garbage.

Past Reputation has Hurt us-Future changes start with more $

I don't like that NC State & Pitt got in and we didn't. How much does REPUTATION matter to the committee? NC State has won a Natty once. The ACC has a reputation for usually being very strong. Clemson does not have a strong past history in Bball for success. The committee appears to always overlook us when we have good teams, just because we don't have strong teams as consistently as some of the others they tend to pick. I almost expected UNC to make the field just because they started the season ranked so high (again Reputation).
If we really want a consistently better team, we may have to change the way we fund the team. We should look blowing up LJohn or turning it into a really great practice facility (and make it a separate Women's building). Building a really 1st class Men's Bball palace, better practice facilities (like the football complex) and improve our NIL for Bball as we have started doing with football.
Brownell has been a good coach, a nice guy, and been what we have spent for. If we really want a much better result, we will need to step up our giving.

Especially losing to Louisville and losing to Virginia by 20 points?
Maybe the committee decided that the level of play we’d be facing was similar to Virginia and they expected us to be 1 and done?
As a consolation, I’m glad we’re in the NIT … it’s a reward for the players and a good stage to attract our new coach . 😁

Same as it ever was. We knew we had to beat Va on the road or win 2 acc tournament games. And of course we didn’t. I can’t wait to hear mrs. B’s / judge Kelley’s excuses next year. We will never win the acc, we will never go past sweet sixteen. And we will likely lose our first nit game. That is just who we are

It's not a huge surprise, but I am disappointed. This team showed moments of being really good. The loss to Loyola Chicago is inexplicable. Were the Tigers out drinking the night before? This ultimately killed the season. The Gamecocks loss was also bad, but there was an explanation for that, with the football situation. The Tigers had a really good record in the ACC (OK, a subpar ACC this year). Ultimately, I agree that Clemson shouldn't have gotten an ACC birth, but the low-hanging fruit that was left on the tree is frustrating.

Yeah the ACC was not good last year either. How did that work out in the tournament? Three in the Eight eight, 2 in the Final Four and 1 in the Championship. Much of the Conference rankings was determined early in the year when teams were dealing with injuries and learning how to play together as new teams.
The head of the Selection Committee referenced injuries for tournament games. Why wouldn't they look at injuries during poor parts of a team's season? Yes Clemson had a rough time in the beginning of the year. They couldn't field the same team game to game because of injuries. This shows that we don't need a selection committee at all. Just stick #### in a computer and see what it spits out. Common sense was non existent with the committee. It would be BS even if you didn't look at NC State. Them not even being one of the last four in but solidly there is laughable.

I will say that I think Coach Brownell should have been fired a half dozen times up until now. I hope that the selection committee being DA's does not affect Neff's decision. This is a very good team and Coach Brownell did a good job this year. He deserves to be here next year even if I will worry that the team will regress to the performances of former years.

Clemson shut out of NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament

Tell me if you have heard this story before.
Clemson gets up for good opponents and is lackadaisical when playing inferior opponents.
Don't get me wrong, I am super proud of the fight the team showed throughout the season. I think this is one of the most, if not the most talented rosters assembled since Trevor Booker. Tyson, C. Hunter, Hall & Galloway deserved a better ending to the season. Clemson very well could have gone to the Sweet 16.
This isn't the case though. Sitting behind the nets against Miami, talking to a season ticket holder, something struck me. Brownell is the Bowden of basketball.
Clemson would have been a 5-7 seed in the tournament with wins over B.C, South Carolina and Louisville. I don't think those three combined for 15 wins. Forget Loyola. Has Brownell been better than what we have seen over the last 25 years?
I can't say yes or no. Die hard OPP fan and because of that, I am biased.
Again, proud of what was accomplished but if "just" missing the tournament is good enough, especially when we had the talent, is "good enough" what we stand for? A school record of 14-6 in the ACC was tarnished by the same type of mind boggling let downs we got used to with TB.
