LET'S GO TIGERS!

I think that Klubnik is more of a DW4 type QB, and if this Garrett offense is actually an Air Raid offense, with two RBs like Shipley and Mafah in the backfield that WILL keep defenses as honest as we've seen them to be in a long time, plus with the way that Klubnik will take off on a run, defenses better not play to far back on our offense bc if they do, we will have two 1000 + yard rushers. So it's really hard not to imagine us having a 1000 yard rusher/receiver this season.

I mean we play in the ACC, and with Garrett having what I believe to be better talent at Clemson than what he had at TCU, he will be scheming against overall ACC talent with the biggest percentage of that talent other than with Clemson and a couple other schools, on average it's 2 and 3 star talent, so, if we don't have a 1000+ yards from a RB and a receiver, then Garrett wasn't ready to coach at a big time college FB team that I believe Clemson to be!!!

Nice article. I do have one question. How would the staff have brought in a receiver from the portal with the scholarship limit?

Not trying to stir up debate, but to answer your question we could have brought on a WR like Keon Coleman and still given out 3 scholarships to former walk-ons (Helms, Thomas, & Florenzo or Caspersen). When we were "over" it was because we had 3 former walk-ons that we wanted to keep on scholarship. If we took a transfer it would have lowered the odds of being able to do that. In hindsight, and I know hindsight is 20/20, we would have been able to do both.

Beaux and Antonio, when healthy, are a good 1-2 punch at WR. But they are more Jaron/Peake/Amari, and less Sammy/Nuk/Tee. I just don’t see that “elite” potential from them. I don’t see future 1st round potential.

Randall has the potential to be “elite” though. His size and speed are a lethal combination. Because of that, he’s the x-factor for the offense this year. He has the ability to truly dominate. If he can become what the coaches say he is, we have a chance to win it all.

Thanks, Ryan

Would be fun to see your per receiver predictions. For example:

Antonio Williams: 900 yards
Beaux Collins: ###
etc.

So you're countering my stat challenge

with another stat challenge? You scallywag! Thing is I think I have a much better chance at being right in the team categories, and I wanna see some Ryan Kantor predictions there.

Since the gauntlet has been thrown, though, I guess I have no choice but to make some guesses at individual production.

You want to say 900 for Antonio Williams? That's a good number. Me and my orange colored glasses will take the under and say 850. Hopefully, some of the bigger receivers are shouldering more of the load this year and getting chunk plays downfield.

How about 8 TD's for Randall, and 600 yds apiece for him and Beaux?

I think it starts with those three guys. You get something from Spector, Turner, tight ends and running backs, but if we're going to be successful, those big three have to lead, and then someone else has to step up behind them.

Along those lines here's a little more action for you . . . 4 Tiger receivers have at least 400 receiving yards for the year.

Alright, I'd say I've stuck my neck out far enough.

In the video embedded in this article I actually did some over/unders like what you're talking about.

I took Klubnik over 3,000 passing yards and over 25TDs.
I took no Clemson receiver reaches 1,000 passing yards.

I think the passing offense improves from 232 to >250 per game which is >3,500 on the year. I really feel good about improvement, the question is, will injuries hit at the spots where they're thin (WR), can Wes coach a very good defense into being an absolutely elite unit (read upcoming article for my opinion), and is it enough to beat UGA/Michigan/Ohio State.

Appreciate your Kantor, I mean candor.

Seems like we're pretty close on the forecast, especially on passing TD's. Hoping we're more like 275/280 yds a game through the air vs. 250. And yes, whether or not Wes's D is a top 5 unit probably determines this team's ceiling.

With the comment that Dabo said of it being a bold move by replacing Streeter, but they needed a refresh. Then going on and saying that Cade looked the part of a true freshman against Tennessee, that tells me that he lost trust in Streeter being able to develop the QBs. Or maybe that's my take from his comment bc I didn't believe Streeter could do much to elevate elite type QBs bc, I really didn't see where Trevor had gotten any better from his true freshman year to his junior year, and when he started working full time with DJ, the kid got worse as our starting QB than he was as a sub, and Streeter worked with him full time the two straight years we missed the playoffs, and I do believe that is why Dabo felt it necessary to bring Garrett in and let his longtime friend in Brandon Streeter go!!!

Our starts and ends with Cade's health so the OL needs to protect him like they would their mama.
