Hartman can be contained but it’s going to take a team effort. The first quarter of the game Saturday will tell me if the Tigers are ready to play! The DBs are going to be tested and if he gets time to set up and throw …

Nope. It’s clearly a hyphen for the phrase. If there were a space after the minus sign, then it would be.

No doubt our defense has to play better than last week so hopefully our injured defensive backs will be able to play. Hartman is probably the best QB in the conference so we have our hands full.

How does this even make sense? They’ll have to play their best DESPITE playing their first ranked team? This implies that a ranked team should require less effort.

Even though Coach Goodwin has been part of the program for years, I believe he develops a rhythm for play calling, just like players get a rhythm for running plays. The first 3 games have been good for him (and us), and I believe he puts it all together for that "A game" this weekend.
