I like how they listed Nuk's competition and Wesco/Moore's competition as if the levels of talent are significantly different, lol. Ya'll, our WR corps has been bad for a few years now. It may be better than it was when Nuk came in...but just barely.

Thank you. My sister was hospitalized in April in Charleston and had been either in the hospital or rehab since. She went under hospice care on July 21, one day after her 80th birthday. She passed away on Wednesday of last week. All 3 of her living siblings and her 3 children were in town but as things turned out, I was the only one in the room when she passed. Thankfully, she just quietly stopped breathing. It was the most peaceful end to a difficult life that we could have wished for. My wife and I got sick, we think it was probably Covid, while on vacation in early July which just made the last few weeks a little more difficult with everything else going on. Looking forward to better things in the near future.
I know you and I disagree on a lot of things, but I do appreciate your comment on this subject. We are all Tigers in the end.

Yay. Good question, one that wasn't discussed here. Will that be the X factor for the offense? I think it will, and we should be in good shape.

A B S L U T E L Y! ! ! To be straight forward, the TE spot is a must with a passing offense. With Briningstool healthy and hoping that the freshman Bentancur can get the play book down pretty quick, and he comes in as a true freshman with already enough weight to play TE at the college level. Then we have Sapp with this being his 3d season and with Patt-Henry with this being his second season at the TE position with both those guys showing they can catch the ball. But it would be nice to have two TE's with experience and capability as Briningstool...

This team lives and dies with Klubnik. If he plays not poorly we will be good.

I am not optimistic, based on what I have seen so far, but I am hopeful for a massive turnaround. I know it is possible.
I also hope we have an offensive scheme that is tuned for the talent and the capabilities of our depth chart. I don't want to see an ideology that is out of touch with the roster again.
And I want to see a return to fundamental soundness on defense. Way too many bad tackle attempts and bad angles taken by defenders last year.

Well, if anything comes out of the talk that our defensive guys are saying, they know they have to be better than they were last season. But I was never as impressed with last year's D as a lot of our fans were.

You know I've been watching some highlights from the days of Tajh Boyd and Deshaun Watson with Chad Morris. Watching those teams was so entertaining and exciting. They played loose and just clicked most of the time. I watch our team now and it looks like their in slow motion at times. They look desperate for something to develop down field. It just happened years ago. And it happened quick. I don't see that changing from one year to the next. We were hanging 40+ on most teams and never let off the gas. What I see now is cautious play calling and fear of making a mistake. As long as we're playing timid it's gonna be the same result every year. In the end your not gonna win every close game. That's just law of averages and should be common sense for most of us.

Our fast-paced offense was the single biggest key to our program transformation.

It created a natural excitement, urgency, and fun factor that helped us get more talent and win more games.
I never understood why we slowly gravitated away from that when Elliott took over as OC. Look at Elliott’s first offense and his last - stark difference in speed, innovation, and not surprisingly, effectiveness.
Perhaps losing Jeff Scott had something to do with the change?
Unfortunately, Streeter kept the same slow and boring offense in place. Yawn.
I was disappointed we didn’t see many changes from Riley last year.

We need to also take into account the fact that our offensive scheme 10 years ago was largely new to CFB and defensive coordinators were playing catchup with recruiting and scheming. Now that the majority of CFB utilizes some variation of the No-huddle Spread Option, and we've missed on a few WR targets, we are lacking the explosiveness of past teams.
Yes, we need to get back to hitting on our blue-chip wideout recruits, but our play-calling has become incredibly bland which has become more glaringly obvious when we can't just line-up and throw 70/30 back-shoulder fades like we used to
