If CDS gets coach O, he better hire a translator also.

So exactly what is Assistant Head Coach? I would say that sharing Defensive Coordinator with a retired Ted Roof is way more of a resume builder than Assistant Head Coach. Coaches are not different from anyone else, if they don't get fired, they move for money.

I’ve wondered what the difference between associate head coach and assistant head coach is.

David, don't worry about it, you, and Tiger nation has to believe that Dabo has a plan, and his plan is somewhere on the Clemson property map where there is an analyst of some sort ready to step on the field into a coaching position, even if it only last for a year or two bc, a defensive position coach makes more money in one season that an analyst can make in three years, and Dabo will come out from wherever he is and make an announcement within the next few days, most likely by Friday January 7th by noon, or late afternoon. Dabo will handle it, and he has proven that he will handle it just a couple of weeks ago!!! Tiger nation just needs to chill, don't they know that Tiger Net is read daily world wide, and a possible recruits mom will read all the negativity posted here on T-Net bc, as we already know, TigerNet was ranked the top Message Boards of 2021!!!!! ??????

I saw a private jet approach low over campus toward the Oconee County airport about an hour ago. Maybe the new DL coach is already here. David - are you in the bushes?

as guys that are content being coordinators here for a long time and he didn’t think another coordinator gig here would be opening up anytime soon.
I wish him the best and like you said the new hire needs to make inroads asap. I bet we’ll take 4-6 DL commitments in next years class and the new hire will have to make up an awful lot of ground to establish relationships with the recruits. Hopefully we get a good one.

I’m surprised you don’t believe but about 1% of our posts. The private conversations between Dabo and Saban about the linebackers position fell through. That don’t make it any less true.

You just have to wonder whether those who have departed since Coach Venables are leaving for greater opportunities, or possibly for a mix of that and pessimism about Clemson's football future, or mostly because of the light they don't see at the end of the Clemson football tunnel.
It seems to me Dabo will have to go outside his comfort zone both with the portal (which he claims he is ready to do in the right circumstances) and for coaches and staff. Understandably he wants to focus on family with internal hires and promotions, but just look around at the other top programs and you'll see that success results in opportunities elsewhere. My rule of thumb is to see what Saban or Coach K is doing, and copy it. Saban has a revolving door of coaches, and Coach K finally gave up on 4 year players and accepted the one year version.
The bottom line is that you cannot have a highly successful program, as Clemson is, and expect subordinates to remain in place the way Coach Venables did. He was a one-off, and his career path will likely never be repeated by someone else of such competence. The mediocre will remain, and the good ones will be gone rather quickly. Dabo needs to embrace that reality.

He followed his heart and cannot blame Bates for moving on. He was a good coach for us so wishing him the best of luck. I just hope this doesn't impact the recruiting portion of our program. Dabo will have to hire outside the program so very interested to see who he is reaching out to or is calling him. He can pick up a big name with associate head coach/D-Line offer.
Time will tell. Go Tigers.

Don't blame Bates a bit. Now Venables on the other hand.

He pulled the rug out from under Dabo with this one despite all the lovey-dovey "family" talk and mentions of how he wasn't going to poach Clemson.
