A dream come true: Thornton commits to Tigers

Growing up a Clemson fan, it took Ray Thornton a mere 24 hours to commit to the Tigers after receiving the offer he’s been waiting on. The 2019 3-star Phenix City (AL) Central safety talked to Dabo Swinney Thursday evening when Clemson’s head coach personally extended a scholarship and from there, it was a matter of when Thornton would commit. You can have all the speed and athletes ability you want but if you can’t learn the schemes and understand it, you’ll never make it.

Love the fact he got to practice with and against Justyn Ross. Iron sharpens iron. Same with the classroom too!!!!

As for me, I like the idea of offering scholarships to kids who dream of being a Clemson Tiger.

It beats the heck out of bringing in a kid who isn’t sure which school he wants to play for!

Nothing like having a team consisting of guys who are happy and proud to play for the big orange!

Coach S is the very best at evaluating young players.
