but I’m amazed at the outpouring of support on this board for the ACC. There was a time when every country gentlemen I knew hated the ACC for the disdain the conference showed to your alma mater and the Reconstruction they slammed on Clemson’s back post Pell. Now, Clemson is generating revenue for the bohunks in North Carolina to divvy up while they dismissively spit tobacco at the very beast that pulls their wagon.

Conference fan. In my mind, however as a Southern school and a football school we would just fit in great with the other SEC schools. BC, Syracuse, and Pitt are a little too far above the Mason Dixon line for my liking. Just my 2 cents. Go Tigers!!!

There have been conversations and both sides are listening. Clemson isn’t the only school in the ACC that is talking and I’ll leave it at that.

But, I would much rather play in the SEC than the ACC. Playing the same tired old teams is getting old, and we actually have more rivals in the SEC. I have no love for the ACC, BUT I hate the SEC for one reason and one reason alone ...they refuse to invite Clemson, but invited that cesspool known as South Carolina. But that would be forgiven if they finally invite us.
But the SEC will never invite Clemson. I've already made peace with that.

I disagree. This is 2021. Clemson is larger than just football. Based on geography alone we do have a different alignment with the Northeast as compared to the SEC (middle south and west). Facts, look at Clemson's enrollment data. Additionally, you have to consider Clemson's colleges of Business and Engineering - bordering on world class status. Clemson will remain aligned with UNC, NC State, Duke, UVA, and VaTech.

I would think that if this were to happen, Clemson fans would never chant S-E-C.
You'd hear some loud C-L-E-M-S-O-N though, same as always.
That's what I was thinking.
But then I would have thought no Clemson fan would actually whoo-hoo either, and yet there they are.
Cringeworthy, but there.
There will undoubtedly be kids that will think it's cool to chant S-E-C, but real Clemson fans will die a little inside if they ever hear that crap.

I would never chant SEC, but I have never chanted ACC, and I never will. Also during my life time as a die hard Clemson fan, before my devastating back injury, I'm sure that I have been in DV watching my Tigers play no less than a 100 times, and may be more, and I've never mentioned our conference at a single game. I see the school, and team that I love as Clemson/Clemson Tigers, and nothing else, we're not the ACC, we are C L E M S O N, Go Tigers!!!!!!!

I'd rather they just leave things as is. no need for another round of this crap. conferences are just fine the way they are. leave Texas and OU in the Big 12, leave Clemson and FSU in the ACC leave Ohio State and Michigan in the big 10. this is going to be SO stupid with these mega 20+ team conferences. Almost a NFL type model. I prefer the individual conferences.

Right. If you are going to do 20, just go all the way and do like 32-36 and start your own league with a playoff and a championship.
This is not good for the overall health of the CFB in my opinion and would hurt any remaining balance.
No balance/competition nationwide equals loss of fans. CFB is making some grave mistakes in my opinion.
