Wonder if in a hundred years they will do a segment on the coots and their pregame fire extinguishers....it could happen.

It cannot be argued

That we have the most uniquely individual pre-game ritual in all of CFB. It also cannot be argued that the history and tradition that accompanies our pregame tradition is among the best out there. No amount of Big Lots smoke machines and songs about sleepiness will ever be able to compare ...especially when you consider the undeniable fact that about 8 other colleges do precisely the exact same thing

Take a minute

To consider what the Coots have as their "program tradition" Ten seconds passes and you are already finished with it. The other 50 secinds can be spent thanking the almighty that you didn't end up pitching your tent in that cfb graveyard. What a pool of excrement. Somebody should do a piece on Gamecock Football Lore . It would be commercial length of course , during which they would show George Rogers and Steve Spurlid hugging in the fairground parking lot while in the distance a homeless man relieves himself at the base of a Palmetto tree. Only the keenest observers will spot that the homeless man is actually GA Mangus doing what he do .

There are a number of older Tigers on TNet, who not only

knew Coach Howard, but were witness to the beginning of the tradition of the rock on the hill.
In addition to my diploma I'll always consider it a great honor to have been among that first group who touched the rock, then ran down the hill in 1967.
Whether an alumnus or a fan, if you're ever able to do so, stand atop the hill at the rock, look across DV, and imagine thousands of orange-clad standing, jumping, yelling and clapping fans along with Tiger Band blaring out "Tiger Rag," and you'll understand the thrills that many have experienced since that day in 1967.
I wouldn't swap those memories for anything!
