Debunking a couple basketball myths.

1. The Clemson athletic department doesn’t spend enough on basketball. Brad is paid more than either of the coaches he has taken consecutive losses against. Both of whom have taken their teams to a Final Four.
2. Making the NCAA tournament is hard. Clemson ranks 11 of 15 teams in the ACC by percentage of seasons making the NCAA tourney (I left Maryland out) during Brad’s tenuere. 6 teams in the ACC have made the tourney no less than 50% of the time. Clemson 25%. Only BC, Wake, GT, and Pitt have fared worse.

Hilarious that it’s the same loop of responses just the names have changed over the years. It’s very cootish with the “wait till next year vibe.” THIS team should be sweet 16 and the only reason to explain if they don’t is the coach and he must go at that point. Tournament isn’t even enough imo with one exception if we win the conference tournament.

NOT! (Not even close. Might be the 2nd or 3rd best team that Brown L has put together. You can always expect Brown L teams to surge and then deflate.

the ‘89-‘90 team with Campbell, Davis, Forrest, Cash and Howling?
You’re either nuts or your knowledge of Clemson basketball is too limited for you to be making such assessments.

It’s been done many times. Controlled for strength of schedule he is worse than anyone other than Larry Shyatt and that’s much closer than anyone wants to believe.

He has the most losses of any Clemson basketball coach.
What more needs to be said?

Clemson ha been funded just fine since the renovations. Prior to that we werent funded appropriately. That is why all of our previous coaches got the hell out of dodge after the first Sign of success. We lost our previous coach to depaul.
Since the renovations, we have made the tourney in 2-6 seasons.
2 other seasons out of 6 we were on the bubble. One of those seasons we had a top 35 net and would have gotten us in the tourney if they prioritized the net like they do now. In The ither bubble season we set a school record for acc wins.
We will make the tournament this year and that woll be 5 out 7 seasons being solid (3 out of 7 in the tourney). Really goes to show how much you can improve by prioritizing and funding your program.

Correct. You can use statistics to say whatever you want. Winning at a high level is the only thing that matters.

You’re using a selective time period. Then applying rankings that were not applicable to arbitrarily declare 5 of 7 seasons as “solid,” I believe was your word. Brad Brownell is 3 of 13 making the NCAA tourney. One of this includes making a play-in game that did not exist prior to that season. Over his tenure his 25% rate of making the tourney is 10th in the ACC. While I agree that he will likely make the tourney this year, you don’t just get to declare it so and give him a 3 of 7 record. If we go by actual facts, Brownell moves up to 9th amongst ACC coaches at making the tourney in the post-renovation period. Thats it.

That appropriate funding has elevated us from 10th to 9th in the ACC as measured by NCAA appearances then.

Morehead St’s coach makes $175,000.
He’s not well funded. But took us to the woodshed.
Brownell’s supporters on this board are some of the most delusional people on planet earth.

One of the dumbest comments ive heard.
Derp, alabama's coach makes double what brownell makes and we took them to the woodshed. I guess brownell is underpaid and alabama's coach is overpaid.

Hey MountainGenius, Nate Oats has won the SEC two of his three years. He deserves that salary.
He was making $300,000 less than Brownell when he was hired in 2019 and has proven he’s worth the $4.5 he now makes.
We’re all still waiting on Brownell to prove his.

Let’s not confuse spending dollar bills with being the only factor to commitment. Clemson history is proof of a lack of real commitment to basketball.
More proof is that Brownell is still here with his resume.

Here's another myth. UNC is an average basketball team this year.

What else can he say? Repeats the same BS. Everyone that does not agree with the famous duo’s points don’t watch basketball and know very little about the game.Same arguments every year!

I said this is an average UNC team. Whether I’m correct or not won’t be known until after the season, but simply being ranked would be below average by UNC standards. If you actually watched college basketball and weren’t just a scock troll who thought Miami expects Final Fours you would realize that.
