This board is a reflection of our Society

Dec 4, 2022, 11:32 AM

I’ve been on the board since 2003. I chose my handle of reality2003 because we had just lost to NC State and I thought 8-4 was who we were and we should be happy with that. I was wrong. A lot has changed in 20 years. One man had a lot to do with that.

Like society in general, I have watched this board fall deep into the abyss since then. So many adjectives could be used to describe the absolute garbage now posted on a daily basis on this board by an obsessively negative vocal minority. A minority that probably is bitter in all aspects of their lives. There is a fundamental lack of respect not only for the young men the work hard to represent the University I graduated from but our head football coach. A coach that does things the right way and is the epitome of class. There is a fundamental lack of respect for each other as well. It’s disgraceful and sad.

I don’t disagree with many of the arguments some of you have made over the years but I am so disappointed in how you make them.

You can share your opinion respectfully. You can question our coaches respectfully. You can critique a 20 year old’s performance without attacking the kid who is giving us everything he has. You can make your argument with maturity.

You know who you are. You are spoiled. You are entitled. You lack respect. You are ungrateful. You don’t appreciate where we have been. I feel sorry for you and the people in your life that have to live with you. If you can’t enjoy life, maybe it’s time to get a life.

After winning yet another championship, you would expect to see excitement and gratitude on this board. 99% of fans across this country would kill to trade places with us. Yet the same sad people continue to spew vitriol and hate. What happened to having some class? What happened to being part of the Clemson Family? If this family… it’s past time for a divorce.

Welcome to the innernets…where people say whatever

Dec 4, 2022, 11:38 AM

comes to mind regardless of how it affects others. Where if people acted like this in real life their wives would deevorce’em, their kids would disavow them, and their dogs’ would bite’em in the a s s on the way out the door.

Actually, some people do act like that in real life.

I feel the need to honestly repent and apologize for my anger this morning.

We are apparently a hypocritical society too,

Dec 4, 2022, 11:42 AM

Evidenced by a long winded post bemoaning the death of polite discourse followed by “ You know who you are. You are spoiled. You are entitled. You lack respect. You are ungrateful. You don’t appreciate where we have been. I feel sorry for you and the people in your life that have to live with you. If you can’t enjoy life, maybe it’s time to get a life. ”.

Not really. Messages boards aren’t that serious and OPs post is nothing original. I almost fell asleep reading it. Hear the same hypocritical lecture that lacks self awareness all the time on this board.

Re: This board is a reflection of our Society

I have to agree. Some posts are just ugly and divisive. I think most Clemson fans knows everything that Dabo has done. He did not just win 2 national championships and more ACC championships then I can remember. He helped build a program, culture, facilities, and made Clemson football unique. In the long term with NIL that might be the difference to keep Clemson as one of the top programs. I watch the Vlog and such that show the things that Dabo provides outside of football like paw journey. You can see the men he helped cultivate like KJ. Winning football games is important and is essential for Dabo as the basis for these opportunities. He probably could have handled things better this year but we do not know how that would have worked out either. I am excited we won and look forward to the next game.

LOL, another poster advising us what to post and how to post. Hypocrisy much? Don't like it, then don't read it....best advice you'll get here on the Bored.

From 2200 miles away I visit here mostly because I wish SOME contact and inside info.

I notice what you have posted. Staying away from that is … well, it would be better to not feel a need to stay away.

I remember the UCLA basketball team scene in the late 1970s. Following three years with Kareem and three with Walton … whomever stepped into that would have a difficult time and they did. We Clemson folks are living with memories following three years of Watson and three years of Trevor … it’s not the same and is hard to take. I am looking forward …

4 solid paragraphs and then an impressive list of insults and ad hominems. Maybe it’s time you take a reality check with your keyboard warrior wisdom from internet days of yore, and question why your sermon fell on the deaf ears of the thousands of people enjoying football games and offering reasonable feedback. Happy typing

I think reasonable feedback, he doesn't have a problem with.

I agree with his assessment of a lot of the vocal minority. As others have said, everyone is free to agree or disagree.
