On my Facebook. I asked her how can a true Clemson fan root for Georgia? Or anyone in the SEC?
Congrate them yes, but actually root for them?

I find it more bizarre that somehow the SEC has placed me in a position that I would pull for mid Atlantic over a southeastern team
Feels like there was a time before undefeated Auburn was left out of BCS national champ, and that was a turning point for the SEC, that we would never think of pulling from a Big 10 team to beat a southern team
Maybe that was a naive perspective

Why not? They're close to home. I went to Clemson but UGA is my second team. I grew up a Bulldog fan, just wasn't going to pay Out of State tuition. Screw TCU. That's one of my most-hated teams. Apparently you're not a real Clemson fan, or you'd remember their dirtbag fans booing our alma mater in 2009. Not even NC State or the Gamecocks do that ####. TCU can suck it. Wish UGA hadn't pulled their starters and had put up 100.

1. They are Georgia. Their fans are all around us. And they were arrogant enough before Kirby Smart.
2. We heavily recruit the state of Georgia. Players like DW4 and Trevor Lawrence came from Georgia. Good luck getting players like that now. Only leftovers.
3. They are in the SEC. The SEC is trying to stomp out all other conferences. The SEC has a very strong vice grip on recruiting, and that will only continue with them winning Nattys. Plus aren't you tired of hearing SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC?????
4. TCU fans worse than Georgia fans? Are you serious? Do they vandalize your car like Georgia fans do? Do they get in your face and bark like Georgia fans do?
5. Didn't Georgia win it last year?

Georgia winning natty’s expands their recruiting footprint even more than it already was. They’ll be getting more players from all over the country. They’ll still get Georgia players, but they have always gotten who they wanted from Georgia. If UGA had really wanted deshaun or Trevor they probably would have gotten them. Even when we were winning our natty’s we were losing recruits to Georgia. Hate seeing them win another one, but doesn’t move the needle on recruiting more than it already was in our backyard.

1. Their fans are all around us. We're in SC. They're an actual Southern team and I think Southerners should support other Southerners (Texas is Texas). I don't see an issue.
2. UGA has always gotten their pick of the litter in Georgia. We've won very few recruiting battles against them in Georgia. Deshaun was a perfect storm. We identified him as a freshman and offered him. He committed as a sophomore and then shut down his recruitment before UGA ever pushed for him. UGA didn't recruit Trevor because they were convinced Fields was better. You don't get to recruit multiple 5 Star QBs. And recruiting is different now. You now just buy players. They have more money. If we go all in and offer more money to a Georgia recruit, we'll get them. If we don't, they'll get them.
3. The SEC is the best conference. It's a fact. We should join the SEC because the ACC is a trash conference.
4. I'm calling ######## on vandalism. Maybe that happened once. It didn't happen to you, and is not the norm. I've been to many, many UGA games and they've been respectful. I've also never had someone bark in my face because I'm not a pansy ### who would allow that to happen. But even if it did, if you don't see how barking is better than booing during a school's alma mater, which is unrelated to football, then you're pathetic and are not a Clemson fan (we already know you're not an alum).
5. Your point is? I'm a meritocrat. The best team should win it. I don't need happy little feel good stories.

You don’t remember GA trying to disrupt the running down the hill in 2013? Their fans are some of the rudest trash out there next to Ohio St. Easily as bad as coots and worse than NC St.

I was at that game on the hill. They didn't disrupt anything. They came to the end zone and watched and jumped. They never got in the way or anything.

Anybody that's been a Clemson fan since the early 1980s (when we played them annually) could never, ever root for the dawgs. One visit to Athens for a game as a visiting Clemson fan/student was all it took to ignite the lifelong hatred of all things UGaly.

I’ve never been treated as badly in the dead cockroach and post game in Columbia as I was in Athens in 82 and they won that game I hate to think what would have happened if the dawgs had lost.

Exactly, bottles thrown from the frat dorms. A real south Georgia dirt bag taunting they beat the heck out of us in '80 when we moved up and down the field and they had Kurt Warner run a int and punt back for TDs.
