I don't get it. I know it looks better to come out of the middle of the field, but our big gametime entrance is from the hill. Maybe I'm missing something, but just doesn't seem worth it for the trade-off in seats and the expense. But then, what do I know....

I had the same concern.
But turns out there's a bottleneck of recruits, non-coaching staff, etc. and an indirect path to the lockerroom in the current configuration.
So now we will have essentially two home tunnels - one for the players and one for errbody else.
No, I'm not crazy about it either. 1) takes away seats 2) gets our guys closer to the opposing team, which can lead to problems 3) messes up some of the gameday rhythms we're all used to.

Yes look closely at the pics. They are filling in those corner tunnels partly with more seats. That visitors tunnel was way too wide and welcoming for the visiting team. At FSU the visiting team used to run out (single file) of basically a doorway which makes it kind of intimidating.

I will allow direct airflow from the Oculus,(which begs the question: Should Oculus always be capitalized?), to the field. Heretofore the vibe has been blocked by the seats.

I sat beside there for the spring game. Knew they were redoing Lot 5 but had no idea that was going on in the stadium.
Not sure who is doing Lot 5 but that’s about the slowest project I have ever seen where a building isn’t even involved.
