One game would have been enough. I think he was pressured by outside influences. Unless we have a outstanding season I will support his firing.

Don't you feel that he caved in a little to outside pressure (press and opponents)? I thought we had policies concernig 1st offense, etc. If we don't, we should. For me I would have preferred a decsion of this degree early on, but Dado doesn't need my input.

which apparently involved Sammy's meeting a list of requirements, he couldn't possibly give the punishment until after the summer was over.
Dabo also said this punishment was "consistent with other" types of situations.

He got caught with something to help you study and something to help you relax during *finals* week. He's going to go through the process of dealing with the justice system. By Dabo's own account he did "everything right," in the meantime.
This suspension is about the perception of discipline, not what punishment Sammy Watkins needs to learn his lesson. By all accounts his lesson is learned. This is about Dabo's image. Apparently that's more important than Sammy.

you are directing me to websites about how people abouse Adderal. Unless a person has been diagnosed with ADHD, they should not be taking it. It can be harmful if ADHD is not present.
Some schools have even turned to this.. “the unauthorized use of prescription medication to enhance academic performance” to the definition of cheating in their academic policy.
Bottom line...Without a prescription, it’s illegal to buy or use Adderall.
Ssome people are really missing the point and blaming Dabo for this, when it all falls back to Sammy. It is just amazing that SOS was blasted for not not following through on punishment, but when Dabo does it he is wrong.

This decision was probably made within a week of the offense,This being the lightest punishment. I for one applaud Dabo for it. Discipline is the first thing in any endeavor which must be adhered to.

I resent your remark. I'm sure I have been a tiger fan much longer than you. I used to stand outside fike with my dad and listen to Frank Howard after the game. He would lit fly cuss words I didn't even know the meaning of, but he was tough and we need to change the culture around this program that we don't care what others do we take care of our own and you better watch out cause we will run you over and don't care what you think.

change the culture to what? sixteen strikes and you are out? in the op you stated you would support dabo's firing if we lose to auburn, yet, with this last post you talk about how tough frank howard was. you are talking out both sides of your mouth. ###, i'll bet you sammy is taking this better than you are.

If you really would support Dabo being fired over a players suspension. One coach isn't above the program let alone one player. Part of being a college coach is helping your players grow up, I think this suspension is fair, it gets the point across to Sammy. IF Sammy messes up again (which I don't expect) the consequences will be much larger.

Now the baseline is first offense = two games. Second offense...? Six games?
That's not about discipline or integrity, that's about Dabo's insecurities.

It was a great call. He did exactly what he needed to do. The Auburn and Ball State games should in no way be close enough that his playing would have made a difference. Additionally, it sends a message that crap like that won't be tolerated, no matter who you are.

Operative words being, "DABO'S DECISION"! When we

hired him, he was afforded the right to make these decisions. I agree, it sucks but we needed to prove that, "No, we are not USuCk, we're Clemson" and we'll bench our star player, not reinstate him 6 times. Support his firing? Really? I must be missing some sarcasm. If you're not excited to see the direction Dabo has OUR beloved tigers heading, and think he deserves firing over SW's mistake then that's your opinion....to me it's just not the right opinion. All due respect to your opinion, but I just do not even get the thought of wanting to fire Dabo with what he's doing here.
