That's the only reason why I could see them always wanting to take him off the field in favor of Shelton Lewis at Nickel. I personally don't remember seeing Sammy get torched in the passing game, so it's still a bit of a head scratcher to me. If it is the case, I hope we get him up to speed in pass coverage so we don't have to take him off the field. However, if he's that big of a liability, predominantly rush 5 and blitz him off the edge and in the A and B gaps. Make his coverage reads simple.

Goodwins answer makes absolutely no sense and just makes him seem like he’s lost and in over his head.
There was no legit logic behind his answer as to why he was pulled.

He can't be no worse than Carter, but I like Sammy playing in a 5 yard box or just going straight after the QB.

He's given up some passes to RB passes.

He runs everyone down so it's not a noted as a slower LB would be. Still, they move the ball 5+ yards on the play.
He is getting better now that the game is slowing a bit for him.

The worst part is, they didn’t take him out for Shelton Lewis because they thought they were going to start throwing the ball. They took Sammy Brown out and put more “speed“ on the field because they thought they were gonna run the quarterback more. That is easily the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard from a football coach and he should be fired immediately.

...a reporter suggested it, and he kinda said, "yeah" under his breath.
I don't think coaches get into too much deep strategy with the press because opposing coaches listen.
