That downtown Atlanta after dark is essentially satan's rectum and being there after dark certainly requires you spin the "Wheel of Felonies" to see what heinous crime will be enacted upon you by the fine denizens of that dump.
If you are adventurous, go walk Vine City just a block West of the stadium to experience crime rates of 2,200 per 100,000 for violent crime and 15,500 per 100,000 property crime. You are probably safer in Ramadi in 2006 than in the failed city that almost makes South Chicago look safe.

I was in Atlanta for my daughter's volleyball tournament a couple months ago. It's not safe at night for women. Period. Whole city reeks of Marijuana smoke. Lot of sketchy people. Very uncomfortable with my 13 year old daughter
