b/c it did. Without it, we kneel and win.
However… the defense and critical playcalling put us in a position where a DPI could lose the game, which it did.

he didn't use any double negatives. FYI a double negative isn't simply when a sentence has two negative words in it. They have to be used in a cancelling or contradictory way for it to be a real double negative.

He doesnt
What you said made sense.
Maybe another way to say it is the DPI took the win away from us, which it did
But defensive play cost us the game. And actually, to he fair, failed kick coverage also contributed to that.
I suppose you can say that the throw to PGrass cost us, but had we run three times, ypu.dont know we would.have gotten in the EZ. I think we would have, but no way to say for certain. I think it was yet another dumb call too cute.by half.
So, defense (mostly in first half) and failed kick coverage cost us.

lose the game. If you think that then that is part of the problem. Excuses with zero accountability
This is wrong
Refs can effect game. And you.can play bad, take accountability for the fixes
Both can be true at the same time.
Otherwise, refs can call back every TD you socre on questionable calls, and you have to say is on the team for not finding a way to win
They didnt play great on defense, but they did enough to win ... and this case w 40 secs to go, a very questionable call gave Duke more snaps and made Clemson have to do more than what it it takes w no time left
Defense wasn't perfect and special teams blew it, but refs awful call at critical moment after defense, had in fact, won the series, did contribute
Both can be true. Clemson needs to be better and refs need to not blow calls at decisive moments in the game.
Otherwise, why have quality standards for refs at all?

Actually yes. Duke had two timeouts with under 50 seconds left, meaning three kneel downs and maybe a launched ball out of bounds is a guaranteed win

No our multi-million dollar DC did by continuing to put the worst defense since Kevin Steele’s 2011 defense on the field again.
Tom Allen is a joke, wish he stayed at Penn State so he could have been fired this year mid season bc he needs to be fired here

We were playing DUKE?!?! That PI call hurt but DID NOT lose the game for us. Them knifing through our defense, scoring on their first three possessions, running a kick back, converting 5 of 5 on 4th down - in our home stadium(!!) cost us the game.

That's a great analogy for it. When you put the game in the refs hands ya kind of have to live with the consequences. Yes it stinks to high heaven that an imbecile made a bad call that gave Duke another opportunity but why are we in that position to begin with?

Exactly!!!
I’m so sick of hearing this “never should’ve been in that situation” bull crap. Yeah, we should’ve, because we SUCK right now. And when we suck, we need the refs to do their #### job.
That call flat-out lost the game.
I hope the Clemson coaches, players, and media call that garbage out, loud and clear.
And spare the “one call didn’t lose it” talk in the media and on the message boards. Yes it literally did. We were in that situation, whether we should’ve been or not. And while in that situation, we literally lost because of that call.
It’s ok to blame on the refs when said blame is due and accurate.

Agree
We shouldn't have been in that position where.thr call mattered. True. We need to fix that.
But regardless, we are not a good team and we're in that position. We did enough to win over 4 quarters. And the call cost us the win.
We want to get back to where bad calls dont matter bc we are able to do 130% of what os needed, so we overcome it
But right now, the made one more play than Duke, refs extended Dukes possession, and thats that
We want to ne better. Refs need to do better so they dont change the rules on us when we have the game won..both can be true.
Otherwise why demand quality from refs at all?

I think that it was a terrible call, but in the end it was still a sad performance. Our defense had more holes than most brands of Swiss cheese, especially right up the middle and in the flats. The call shouldn't have been that critical because they should have still been at their own 20. Our offense was excellent, but the no-name slip pass to the O lineman was a poor decision that could have saved the game.
