The Perfect Storm

Dec 30, 2019, 3:32 PM

Let me start off by saying that I think it will be extremely tough to beat LSU. Clemson needs to bring their A game for sure. Joe Burrow is an absolute beast, and he has great talent around him. However, I think all of the pieces are set up to allow Clemson to actually win this game.

LSU had an easy go against Oklahoma. They didn’t even break a sweat. They are feeling pretty darn confident. But they have NOT been here before. Remember the last time Clemson came into a title game with a little overzealous confidence? The team admitted they didn’t prepare well and lost to Alabama in the ‘15 title game. Even though LSU coaches will tell the team members otherwise, we’re dealing with young kids here; they very well may think they are unstoppable/unbeatable and will be enjoying their time in NOLA leading up to the game.

Meanwhile, we have little ‘ole Clemson whose been here before and ready to get down to business. We were extremely battle tested in the last round; and to be fair, somewhat fortunate to get a win out of the game. It really could have gone either way; both Clemson and OSU are great teams.

Clemson now knows that they need to put in that extra effort to be able to compete, and win, against LSU. Many in the media are making this appear to be impossible for Clemson to come out on top. I mean, LSU is the best team, with the best quarterback ever. What happened the last time Clemson played underdog to the best team ever?

In my mind, the set up couldn’t be better for Clemson. Over the next 2 weeks, the best coaches in the land will meticulously prepare and the players will be laser focused (and get healthy).

All-in-all, I think we’ve just witnessed The Perfect Storm of events.

Snap the #### ball!

I think you are on to something.

Nothing like a bunch of overconfident kids who are full of themselves and are not listening to the coaches. This would be the perfect time to beat LSU.

If LSU had beaten Oklahoma in a tough hard fought game, LSU would come in to the Finals a much more cautious and focused team. I dont see this after their blowout win!

Plus they will stay in their hometown where everyone is telling them that their poop don't stink. There will be plenty of distractions for them.

Agree, but I also think it’s a bit unfair that they

basically get a home game.

They also probably think it’s the perfect storm for them.

Clemson is the better "Team" LSU will score points but Clemson will score alot too and we have a better defense and coaches. That was a great Ohio State "Team" we just beat.

LSU has an offense. Do they have a defense? I did not see LSU's defense much against Oklahoma. Oklahoma proved why they are bad.

Our defense was bad against Ohio State. Standing around doing nothing fuels opposing offensive drives to score and increases the likelihood to lose. We cannot afford to screw around and screw up against LSU. Swinney and Venables should have vented and ignited the defense after the game.
