3 Terms I hate in college football
Oct 7, 2018, 11:05 AM
|
|
1 - "Smash mouth" football. Football is a physical game. Get over this term. 2 - "1st down and MORE" - Duh, any 1st down will get you "more" unless it is by penalty. 3 - "Scoop and score". Please already.

"If both teams bring their "A" game, we should have one for the ages". similar statements.
"It's a first down and then some". If it's a first down, it'a apparent it was a "and then some" regardless of the additional amount.

is inept and can't do anything other than run the football. LSU has been a "smash mouth" team. Has anyone been impressed with their offenses in recent years?

It accurately describes a bouncing ball being picked up by a defender and taking it to the house.
What's so wrong with it?

Scoop and score you hate? Why? That’s what it is. Same goes for “First down and more”, which just means additional yards. You have very odd annoyances.

When people try and sound cool and use “RPO”, run pass option. “SEC speed” has always been annoying. And yes “moxie” is very annoying. “Up the guy” too.
