Is nowhere NEAR what it used to be. Disappointing. It used to be an incredibly loud and tough place to play. Around 2010 we were voted toughest crowd behind Duke. Sounds like a few kids are yelling “ooooh” and that’s about it

I think they wanted to imitate the Crazies but putting a row of wine and cheesers between the students and the court kinda kills that vibe. Whereas they were right on top of the court when they were on the ends.

My daughter along with a bunch of students did not get in.
She has been to all the home games to date and was on the side. Be interesting to hear her take.
I think the “row” on the floor between the court and students doesn’t help but it is probably to help eliminate any potential student/player issues and it pleases some of the big wheels

The energy of the program has changed. J-Dew is gone, did he get a replacement? Purnell's teams were exciting to watch. Brownell's not quite as exciting. Different styles of defense and offense.
I think Brownell has better talent now then Purnell ever had during his tenure. I attended a game a few years back and I was surprised how many students were not there. Got to find a way to make it the place to be

DID YOU MISS THE GAME LAST NIGHT. IT WAS SAID STUDENTS GOT MORE TICKETS THAN THEY HAD. STUDENT ATTENDENCE HAS BEEN FINE EXCEPT FOR SOME OF THE SCRUB TEAMS, WHICH WE DO NOT PLAY MANY OF THIS YEAR.

Seriously did you watch the game? I appreciate your perspective but you’re perpetuating something you saw ‘a few years ago’ Lets all get on onboard and see what happens. The environment last night looked really rowdy. There were a TON of students there. It was just the volume on the TV broadcast.

I will respond to you. I was busy last night preparing for a large work event this Friday evening. I missed being able to see the first game in probably over 5 years on TV. I had to just check updates. So no I did not listen to anyone blather about how loud the kids were. I was responding to the past.
You Brownell fans are impossible to please. It was merely an observation I had and a statement about the differences between the two coaches. That is something you cannot deny. It is not a shot at your beloved. Brownell's teams play solid defense. I can see a change in his philosophy in getting more players that can score. That will bring a better energy to the John. The scoring droughts are less than they used to be. I know we had one before the half, but still felt this team would come back in second half and win the game. It is a different team than past Brownell teams. They have players who can score and we don't live and die by badly shot 3's.
Take the "W" and the compliments.

I was sitting down by the court last night, it was plenty loud, my ears were ringing when we left. I was impressed at the turnout last night, both students and us mere mortals.

It might be something with how the audio comes through on the broadcast, but I could hear a handful of individual people yelling "ohhhhhh" and that was about it.

Agreed. I thought that as well. Just seemed much more energetic and loud back in the day on TV in the JP times. Maybe it's just the production on ACCN or maybe it's all the distraction now that people have with their faces stuck on a device and not living in the moment. I think that's a big part of it with a lot of stuff these days.

Girard was trying to get the crowd going and crowd didnt do it. After the game in the interview they asked if was intense playing in such an intense environment. He was polite about it, but you could tell he thought it was nothing. He mentioned the intensity of games up at Syracuse. Nothing will rattle that guy now.

1. If you were there you wouldn’t have posted this.
2. It was plenty loud. Drowned out the pep band at times. Noise comparable to any time I’ve been there in the past 30+ years. Obviously it wasn’t very loud for several minutes of the 1st half…
3. There was an overflow of students. Both student sections were full. They allowed more in and they completely surrounded Littlejohn in the area between the lower and upper. All the way around. There were so many students that a bunch couldn’t get in.
Maybe attend a game and you’ll know. Whiny bunch on TNet…
