narrative. The Philadelphia Eagles in 2017 had their season long starter Carson Wentz go down to injury, the eagles ended up winning the Super Bowl against the Tom Brady led patriots with Nic Foles as their Starter. Nic Foles wasn’t successful as a starter before that playoff to win the Super Bowl.

NFL is different. That said, no telling how well FSU would do since they wont get the chance. Personally, I think they are similar to Iowa now with their offense. It would have been interesting to have found out.

Coaching can do amazing things if given some time. We had similar situation in the 2014 season when DW injured ACL in SCar game though finished and won. We got Oklahoma in the Russell Athletic Bowl with Cole Stoudt at QB and absolutely curb stomped the Sooners 40-6. Streeter coached up Stoudt who was good enough that game to win MVP. No reason to think FSU couldn’t do same with their backup QB as well

Committee was able to see what was backing him up. Totally different anyway. This would be more analogous to FSU winning with ACCCG with their backup. They did.
I think it's the exact reason FSU got cheated IMO

You’re combining the stats from 2 qbs. They found a way to win with both but one was clearly better. And they’d have 5 weeks to prep which is only 1 week shy of the allowed weeks of practice going into the fall season.

Those were two different QBs. Surely you aren’t saying you can determine the outcome of a team or an individual player after just 4 quarters of play which is all the 2nd string QB has played, right?

FSU and the ACC got screwed. We lost millions by not getting in I don’t ever recall a team with one loss winning a NC over an undefeated team. Besides that fsu won by more than 3 points. I hope they beat the snot out of Ga and they crown em NC anyway!

You do know that the QB being hurt is just the excuse the committee used. They real reason is they just had to include an SEC team no matter what. I mean they can't be expected to say the real reason as it would really look like they are bias. Which they are.

Most pundits dont even think FSU is a top 6 team even. They would lose to Oregon and Ohio State as well.

Fox, ESPN, everywhere. FSU sucks right now. They arent better than Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon, and about 5 other school. They arent better than Clemson even.

Yes those rivalry week wins by one possession with their true starting QB’s for UGA and Bama, super impressive to the committee.
4th and 31 is why Bama and Texas are now both in the playoff.
Absolute sham.

You would never see an unbeaten SEC champion left out because their QB got hurt in the last game of season so that excuse is total BS.

There would never be an above average undefeat SEC champ. FSU should have lost to us, but of course we could kick a short FG. Anyway, did they even beat one good team this year?

Not saying there aren't other possible reasons, only that the injured QB one doesn't hold water.

I don’t this it as much the QB situation. The two teams that didn’t make it had the (far) lower SOS than all the others.
There was no way there was not going to be controversy going into Sunday. The only answer is the 12 team playoff. Perfect? No, but there is no perfect way to do it.

athletes capabilities to the NFL?? Um... the people on those active NFL rosters are the cream of the crop of football players - even the backups. 95% of Florida State's roster will never sniff an active NFL roster including their QBs. The experience/skill level of an NFL backup QB is way above any college QB and to think that FSU's JR and FR QBs whose only experience is clean up duty against FCS schools and high school is more than a stretch. But if comparing an apple to a bicycle makes a good poultice for this chronic case of butthurt that some of you have developed for the ACC and FSU then please continue to beat this CFP Committee dead horse.
Otherwise - put your big boy pants on and accept the reality of the situation that is the CFP. Time to stop complaining about something that ain't gonna change and focus on what Clemson has in front of us - a couple of new coaching hires, signing day, and a date in the Gator Bowl.
