The fact the WR play has fallen to this point is surprising

Nov 26, 2022, 9:55 PM

I would have thought that Dabo, having been a really good WR coach at one point, would be embarrassed enough to step in and get it back on track. I can’t believe these guys compete and make plays in practice and look like this in the games. If they do, that’s a problem too. Just shocking that Dabo would let his bread and butter position group get to where it is now.

Agree! I’ve been saying this since the Notre Game when it became so obvious when we throw a deep ball on 3rd and 4. That was trying to catch ND sleeping because we couldn’t be successful doing it on 1st and 2nd down situations.

And again today, we line TE’s in WR formation and run a go route. That’s so unorthodox and reveals half the problem! Receivers can’t break away from defenders! I’m not sure who the problem is but at the end of the day, it’s Dabo’s to fix. .

WRs aren't coming to play in a bad offense with a bad QB.....smart business decision by the way. WRs rather go to Wake and NC nowadays.

When we were getting top WRs, ESPN was spreading the narrative about how fun and exciting that Clemson offense is.

Reminds me a lot of the 2010 WR corps before they moved Nuk from DB to WR. Those guys couldn’t catch a beach ball.

Tyler Grisham is basically Dabo’s son. Dabo has known him since he was 5 years old. Dabo isn’t going to fire his son. And our WRs are only going to get worse.

That’s why I’m surprised Dabo hasn’t been more hands on with it

You would think he would be more frustrated with it than us since he use to coach that position group at a high level.
Dabo the WR coach would not be cool with how the WRs play, I just don’t understand why Dabo the HC is ok with it.

Would you be upset if you were making $11 million per year?

Lol when QB play falls off a cliff thevwr play usually goes with it. Also really hurts recruiting when the qb looks so bad and looks entrenched in the starting role. What wr watches DJ and thinks "yea I gotta play with that guy".

Our wr recruiting has been on a slow decline since 2018. Dabo turned a lot of good wide outs away due to not being a fit. Will it pick up soon I can't say I'm confident it will.
