When a "commit" says he could play at Ole Miss, Fl, LSU, is he a commit. He is jerking around a great school and program. Recruiting takes patience, and this kid requires a lot. I hope I am wrong, but we will be left at the alter with nobody in line to fill the job we are holding for him.

His mom came off in that AJC interview as a 1st class biotch

that doesn't care what Robert wants. She wants what she wants. The older brother is less talented and was not heavily recruited. Thus, he ended up at Ole Miss. Now mom, who isn't even in the country that much, wants Robert to go to Ole Miss b/c that is convenient for her. If she really cared about her son and what he wants and what's best for him, she'd visit Clemson. She'd get to know Dabo and talk to the high school coach.
It's pretty clear from the interview she wants him going to Ole Miss or Bama.
Robert confuses the situation even more by bringing up Florida & LSU, but mom clearly favors Ole Miss & Bama. And supposedly he favors Clemson.
The way I see it, and the way I was raised, it should be a kids decision where he goes to school. Yes, parents should have input, but ultimately it should be the kid's choice. It's their life, their future, and they are now adults. Given his parents, esp his mom, are absentee parents and he has lived with other people the past few years, you'd think the parents would have less influence over him.

Look he and I disagree on a BUNCH of stuff relate to Clemson, but to suggest that makes him a coot is illogical.

This line is really what makes her sound, well, odd: "To me, a verbal commitment that they said he made to Clemson is nothing"
Look, he may not end up here, and we know she doesn't want him here, but to suggest somehow that the verbal commitment didn't occur is outright idiocy. No one, except her, is arguing otherwise.
I feel bad for him being torn, and I can't imagine the pressure he must feel (at his age) as he is being pulled in different directions by different folks he cares about.
But she does a disservice to him when trying to paint the picture some way other than what is clearly reality.

The fact that she does not want anything to do with

Clemson or even to talk with Coach Swinney pretty much tells me that it's gonna take a miracle to sign him.
But, it's weird how she had no problem talking to Coach Richt, but she's so against Dabo...
We've signed plenty of guys who went against their mother's wishes but this almost sounds like the early stages of the Kendall Fuller situation.

just let him go... please....we can find good defensive players elsewhere.. If our whole progam depends on this one guy, then we are in real trouble...Dabo has said it over and over again, if you are not really to fully commit, all in..then do not waste our time, when we can give a scholarship to someone else who does care...so sick of hearing about this guy and his mom.....go to ole miss and have a 3-9 season......

All of you that are married with children, ask your wife if she would move a continent away from the kids for the sake of crooked politics.

so he can go to one of her choices or get grief from her. It's up to him to decide if it's easy or hard. Sad sad parenting IMO.

Anyone else find it weird that she has time to set aside a few hours for photo ops and interviews for the AJC but she can't take 15 minutes to answer a phone call from Dabo?
I hope her opinion doesn't have a huge affect on Robert's decision because otherwise he is as good as gone. But I think he is honorable enough that if he was really thinking about other schools he would have decommitted. I think it's just that everyone else wants something different from him and it's tough not to factor all of those things into his decision.
