commitments......the fear is genuine. Had lunch with a former coot player today (who is a "reasonable" coot, if there is such a thing) who acknowledged that it will be tough sledding for the next few years for them. Praised Dabo and was very impressed with the Riley hire.

really embalmed (meant emblazed) their flock big time And in recruiting results too as seen, as I knew it would.
That loss is gonna cost us big time for years to come imho in tougher & closer games, their fans donating more, more crappo, car flags, etc..
but after 7 straight record wins (would have been 8 with TE during Covid cancellation) another Tiger win would have totally crushed them..
thus we may have an in-state competitor..Again.

As painful and ridiculous as last years loss to the coots was, I am hopeful that it will ultimately be viewed as the best thing that could have happened to give our program the change of direction and boost it needed at a perfect time. The loss (and subsequent loss to TN) almost certainly pushed Dabo to make the change at OC that likely would not have occurred had we won either one of those games. The coots will probably wish they had lost that game by a point in the coming years when they witness our re-ascension into elite.
