because of Brownell’s coaching history. Not because of the players! IMO, the team had a really nice diverse balance of talent this year. The committee probably saw that too but given Brad’s history could not put the Tigers in. The team doesn’t deserve this embarrassment! This will go down as one of the worse losses in the history of Clemson sports.
It pains me to agree with you . That was the most pitiful example of big boy basketball I have ever seen.. Apparently the Tigers didn’t want to be there and they sure didn’t show up. I have said several times that the team lacked leadership and it certainly did in this game. Long offseason coming up so I hope the spring football keeps our enthusiasm up!
Despite all the wailing and gnashing of teeth about how we got robbed because we beat teams that got it THREE TIMES, the committee looked over the resume and found it lacking, with inexcusable losses sticking out like missing teeth in a meth addict's jaw.
The NIT committee figured they could try to leverage the controversy by including Clemson...as a #1 seed no less!
ESPN knew better though, figuring the game wasn't even worth putting on ESPNU.
Well played, CBB, well played. Got the long con in place and can keep milking Clemson for that $2M+ every year knowing you don't have to do JACK.
