And I realize Todd Ellis said it, but that doesn't change the fact that it was attributed to the Old Ball Sack on his twitter feed, and it doesn't change the fact that the OBS didn't deny it, and it doesn't change the fact that Dabo said he didn't know if Spurlid said it or not but if he did...
And it doesn't change the fact that USC is in California and Carolina is in Chapel Hill, and it doesn't change the fact that the best year in the history of your crappy program only produced 5th place rings.

Your athletic department was the one who made the Tweet attributing the quote to Spurrier. It wasn't some random blogger.
YOUR UNIVERSITY publicly stated that Spurrier said it, which is why Dabo responded.

That celebration wasn't about a rivalry, at all. If someone on the golf team breaks his wrists, should his coach mention Clemson? If the baseball team loses a player, should Tanner or the new coach mention Clemson? Doesn't really have a ring of timing to it.
