Recruiting rankings suggest that we have plenty of talent. Are you suggesting that our talent isn’t as good as advertised?
Or are you saying that our talent hasn’t been developed by the coaches as well as it should’ve?
A coaching staff that has the best facilities in college football and recruits nationally shouldn’t be losing games due to inferior talent.

1) Hope for injury to best D Lineman.
2) Hope for ejection of best LB (and QB of the Defense).
3) Tempo
4) Get Calls in with quick Snaps and not allow Venables to get last second calls in based on formation.
5) Run plays throughout the season, then, run misdirection off all of them.
6) Snap the ball quick. Don't give time for Blitz to get home.
7) Install a LOT of new plays throughout the season, but don't run them until the game.
8) Avoid plays run by other teams. Run plays that are similar but run misdirection off of them.

First of all, elite talent - obviously. But schematically, a solid OL that gives the QB enough time to throw against our rush, and a competent enough QB to make accurate throws into soft coverage. Our D is predicated on QB pressure - when it’s not there, it’s 85% completion percentage downfield throws all day.

If you notice, Ohio State is lining up and snapping quick. This gives zero time to read the offense and call in a play. Pitt did it to us by huddling. You think Day was talking about stealing plays for no reason?
