to make the 2024 playoff at 5 and a half. Does this mean ESPN has already decided at least five make it?

ESPN is exactly like the democrats and the liberal media. Say it over and over and everyone starts to believe everything they hear. 4-5 SEC teams has been stated on virtually every college football show, radio, and podcast since we went to 12.

7 at large spots. 3 to SEC, 3 to B1G. That's a virtual lock.

The only question is who gets the last at large spot.

I haven't looked at the article yet. But, barring something very strange happening 4 is a lock. The only question is will they get 5.

If it comes down to similar resumes, the Big and Sec will get the nod, everytime. They built that into the new contract pretty much with the splits. ESPN is going to push their bellcows, without exception. That isn’t Clemson, FSU or the rest of the ACC. You take what you are given. What’s the old saying? “You get what you get, and don’t pitch a fit”. We need to know our place. /s

Clemson needs to beat Georgia and go 11-1 or 12-1 without an ACC title or of course win the ACC title.

Leave no doubt. Win the ACC and we’re a top 4 seed. We are the Clemson Tigers! Don’t worry about how many from what conference gets in. GO TIGERS!

The day is here where if you are in a conference so weak that you only have one big game, win it and you're the conference champs, bites you in the butt. That's where Bobby Bowden wanted to be when FSU could have joined the Big Boys Conference. Being in a weak conference worked for a while but no more.

Two of the top 5 programs in the 90s.
In modern terms, it would be like Clemson playing the ACC schedule plus UGA and Ohio State every year.

The Big10/SEC invitational...

I don't think will be as popular in the long run as some seem to think. *shrugs* Whatever... I got to watch my team win two titles (one in person with my son) so I'm good for whatever happens to the sport now.

I was fortunate to be a sophomore in 1981 and made it to Miami. Pretty special. I was lucky to be able to make all games during the CFP. 3 National Championships. Okay. LETS GET ANOTHER THREE!!!!!!

Take the under. They will get 4 teams max. Probably just 3. If DJ and Kade play better than they have before, both Vlemson and FSU will get in.

Heck, this is what I predicted when they changed the rule (before the PAC-12 disintegrated)
1 seed: SEC champ 2 seed: B1G champ 3 seed: Big 12 champ 4 seed: ACC champ 5 seed: SEC champ game loser 6 seed: SEC team in second place in SEC west 7 seed: SEC team in second place in SEC east 8 seed: Notre Dame (just because) 9 seed: best 3-loss SEC team 10 seed: next best SEC team 11 seed: best Go5 team 12 seed: PAC-12 Champ

That is what the whole 12 team crap was all about, getting more SEC teams in the picture. The SEC, ESPN, and the NCAA are all joined at the hip.

Predicted order of finish ( SEC media )
School Points Georgia 3330 Texas 3041 Alabama 2891 Ole Miss 2783 LSU 2322 Missouri 2240 Tennessee 2168 Oklahoma 2022 Texas A&M 1684 Auburn 1382 Kentucky 1371 Florida 1146 South Carolina 923 Arkansas 749 Mississippi State 623 Vanderbilt
I believe the top 3 are likely
Mizzou and Ole Miss are toss-ups for me One of these two will make it but not both. A total of 4. I don't see 5.
It's likely one or more two loss SEC teams will be measured against a 2 loss ACC team for a spot. SOS will be in play as well as " style " points.
Because of this, it's anybody's guess who is chosen.
I will say our performance against Georgia will weigh heavily in any decision involving the tigers
