The 1981 Clemson/Georgia Game

Dialed up the 1981 Clemson/Georgia game on YouTube last night. Only watched the first half because my eye lids were getting heavy. The film is not very good but since we were leading 10 - 0 it was worth the eye strain. Walker had two fumbles and we had intercepted a couple of passes. Am anxious to see the second half to see if we won. If they keep playing like they did in the first half I believe we will have an excellent season, maybe even win our first national championship. I believe we will crush Wake and win a close one over the Heels. If we make it o the championship game, maybe we will get a chance to show the Cornhuskers a thing or two.

Many of you have probably heard the story told many years ago about the Clemson fan who invited Hershel Walker and George Rogers to come to Clemson so he could take them to a place they had never visited. The two men arrived in Clemson and their host went by KFC for three box lunches. Their host drove over to the stadium, pulled out a small table and three folding chairs from the trunk of his car, walked into the stadium, set up the table and chairs in the end zone, introduced the players to a place they had never visited, and the three enjoyed a finger-licking fried chicken lunch.

I saw Old Men wearing Red Blazers, crying after that game. Warms my little Tiger heart to this very day.

Boy, you went thru Six Mile out by Long Creek up thru Walhalla to get to West Union. Just to embellish the hell out of a comment made years ago.

Don't forget Courtenay and The Knothole on the way to Six Mile. We are more than flyover country.

the ACC hasn't dissolved & forced your lucky beyond belief school to play in the SEC & have to deal w/ Georgia every year.
I highly doubt you'd even live long enough to see your school tie the all-time series w/ Ga if the tigers managed to beat them 24 yrs in a row.

I'm sorry you've been duped.
How come Joe doesn't have one of those pretty little military badges?
I used to post years ago with the handle Clemson21 & irk some of the old timers; I guess you could say Joe is one of my "scoks" in Lounge lingo.
Go back to sleep, princess.

Doesn't have a hat, vehicle tag or a logo on t-net they are not a veteran. Boy you are some kind of ignorant. Joe21 is well known on here and someone questioned his validity a while back. Several posters confirmed that they know him personally and have met him at baseball games. You need to learn some respect for your elders and your fellow humans in general.

Let us know how it goes. I spent most of 2nd half dealing with stadium security. Fellow tiger fan was so drunk he thought my brother was Ga fan. Came up to our seats, got in our faces and took a swing at my brother. Security took him out and he was also charged. You can't make that up. I think maybe we missed seeing a Buck Belue interception or two. Hot day as I recall.

Well fellows, I've been called everything in the book but I learned to roll with the punches. I've made a fool of myself so much by the written and spoken word. The only comforting thing is I find I am not alone.
Now, back to the game for the second half. I'll let the cat out of the bag, WE WON !!! WE WON !!! We defeated the reigning national champions 13 - 3. Hershal was a fumbling machine and the Dogs had no bite and their bark sounded like a moaning cat.
The tape was horrible. All screwed up.It even went back to the first half so I would suggest not wasting your time checking it out. Now, fast forward to July 2017, The Clemson Tigers have two national championships to their credit since the Dogs won their last one. Many Dog fans were not even born when they one their last championship. And the coot fans? Well, that's another story.
