based on hypothetical or strength of schedule...have the best record in each division?> you get in automatically..then after that the best records get in as wild cards. inb4 the sec doesnt get 5 in this year and threaten to leave and form t heir own thing if the other conferences do not agree to give them at least 10 auto bids in a 16 team playoff

win your games and you are in. at the end of the day college post season is being taken hostage by espn who keeps lobbying for one conference to get over half the spots just because they are invested heavily in that conference. i still dont see how the acc doesnt have an anti trust suit against them. every thing they do is to benefit the sec and not the other conference they have under their thumb

Exactly. SOS doesn't matter, for that matter nothing does as long as you win your conference.

32 NFL teams, 8 divisions of 4.
134 FBS teams, in 10 conferences ranging in size from 2 to 18 teams, plus 3 independents.
No salary cap to equalize talent. No revenue redistribution.
Your idea is not practical.

That’s right, eat what you kill.
College football should be organized into one league and operate identically to the NFL.

It’s not comparable. The divisions in the NFL are only 4 teams. You play each team twice (home and away).
That makes it indisputable who wins the division.
In NCAAF, you can’t play every team in your conference. And you certainly can’t play them twice. It is not indisputable that Miami or SMU or Clemson is the ACC winner since none of them have played each other.
