An imperfect strike zone is part of what baseball so great. Human error and learning one particular person zone is what makes baseball unpredictable.

A ball should be a ball. A strike should be a strike. It shouldn’t change each day depending on the ump. It should also be the same zone for each pitcher. But that’s not the case, either. Maddux would get 2 or 3” inches off the plate in his heyday. I was watching baseball and following the sport then. I’m guessing that was 2 or 3 years ago?
