Leroy Fox has good food, but it is really loud. If you want to carry on a conversation, I would not go there.

When you say family friendly, do you mean children friendly or a place family can get together and eat/talk?

What area are y'all staying or do you want to eat near stadium? Duckworths downtown has pretty good food, a great beer selection and TV's to keep a 13 yo occupied if they arent already nose deep in a phone lol

When staying there before, we generally have driven away from that area for meals.

Well I'm at a loss at places near airport. When I moved away 19 years ago the airport area was not a place with a lot of good places nearby to eat. Though that may have changed since I left as Charlotte has changed a lot since then

to Belmont, since it's closer than Charlotte eating areas.
There are a few good restaurants in my neck of the woods.
Sammy's is very popular, though it can get a bit loud due to the echo.

Then there is Nellie's Kitchen, which is owned by the Jonas brothers. They show up on occasion. There is often live music as well.

The Lodge is an interesting place to eat, as it has Wild game on the menu. I like it though some may not.

There are a few other good eats in the area as well, though some may look like dives.

Charlotte has hundreds of great choices, but if you’re near the airport and like BBQ, you could venture into Gastonia and check out Ray Nathan’s. It was started by a couple of former managers of Clemson’s The Smoking Pig. Similar concept and delicious food.

Firebirds on Rea Rd. It’s about 10 minutes from airport. BLT Salad and ranch rings are a must.

And it's only 10-15 minutes from the airport.
