TE

May 19, 2019, 6:23 AM

I know a lot of people want more lbs dbs and ends and of course we do need a couple wrs no question, but I think a TE needs to be in our last few spots it will be a mistake to continue the neglect of this position. It feels like we are slowly transitioning each year away from the Morris offense that got us here to more of a 4 wide vertical attack. Don’t see as much motion and as much TE usage and the jet sweeps etc etc. let’s not forget what got is here.

Your point has merit, but

That 4-wide was more than Bama could handle last year? Scheming to the talent you have is working for the Tigers...yeah?

Pretty sure there will be more TE involvement this upcoming season. T

I'm going to leave it up to Dabo and the staff to take recruiting in the direction they feel it needs to go. The results in the last several years have been outstanding so any "armchair" quarterbacking about recruiting and game management on this forum just seems foolish and certainly not needed.

Let the professionals handle it.

Don't be surprised if a player from another position transitions to the TE spot. I don't know who could make this kind of move. What are your thoughts?

How has TR been neglected as we signed two last cycle and have plenty on the roster. It is true we have not had a true downfield threat TE since Keggett but those guys do not grow on trees and we have done ok without that threat

Galloway is most certainly that downfield threat for us at the TE position . Lay may just be more of it than we know . Both are uber athletic , long framed and have great hands .

It took Legget a few years to grow in to his role. Galloway suspension hurts us this year, Lay will have to grow up quick this year. They both have so much potential and should make this a winning poition for us the next several years.

It must be a tougher position than you'd think because we get good athelets and it still takes them a couple years to factor ins;

Dabos offense got us here. Chad's offense helped get us to

a place where we could get different types of players in to run Dabo's offense. A lot has changed since 2011

Have to agree with Neal on this. Chad’s offense took us to the next level but

May 19, 2019, 7:51 AM

Couldn’t quite get it done. It is Elliott and Scott who have polished the offense and figured out how to mess with Nick’s mind. Chad’s offense was either on or off. Many thanks to what Chad helped us do and to help get us the players to be where we are, but we weren’t worse for him leaving. That being said I’m excited to see what he can do at Arkansas and what tricks he may have learned in the last few years.

The players got us a lot further than chads play calling; in fact often despite his play calling.

I personally did not care for his plays; a lot of frustrating head scratching moments with him.

Chad was too arrogant, his way or no way. Refused to make adjustments based on the talent of his personnel. All you need to do is look at what Streeter was able to do with Cole Stoud in a months time.

Elliott + Scot > The Chad
