Clemson got the 16 overall seed to host a regional. Auburn, Cal-St. Fullerton, and UNCG.
Of course the elephant in the room is Oklahoma being our paired team in a Super Regional.
This would be the ultimate test. Remember, this team was 40-5 or something close to that at one point. They’re very good with the best player in the country.
This would be a highly viewed softball series if we went to Norman, OK. Valerie Cagle raising this new softball program playing the best college softball dynasty. It’s insane that Clemson is even in this spot every year. We just started the team.

Right.
Our ladies are currently making every pitcher we face look way better than they really are.
And Auburn has an ace who may be every bit as good as Cagle.
It’s disappointing to fall to a #16 seed after thumping both UGa and Northwestern (who are higher seeds), but we have been stagnant for the last month, don’t seem capable of making midgame adjustments and are not really playing with as high an IQ as some other squads.
It seems like we can only score with the long ball and lucky breaks. This time of year, both decrease a lot.

Trying to figure the context of the question; you must be referring to the “IQ” bit.
Well, The players make up the team.
When individual players anticipate what their teammates need to make successful plays in challenging situations, and then perform accordingly, they have developed a “high IQ” in their sport. It is the essence of spontaneous teamwork. Some of it is coached and practiced, some is pre-communicated, and some is just visualized and then enacted, like what DW4 did all the time.
I don’t see us getting in many situations where we can utilize great teamwork, so therefore we don’t develop those skills very much.
Florida St is currently playing with the highest IQ I have ever seen in women’s softball (only been watching the college game since Clemson began the program. But watched the high school game for years.) Aggressive baserunning, situational hitting (understanding whether your teammate needs a gapper, a bloop or a high chopper to score from where they are, and then changing your swing to accomplish it) outfielders who can throw out base runners by throwing to the tag instead of just “hitting the man”, and a rotation 5 women deep who are all getting work right now.
Traditionally the garnet and gold repels me, but they are winning me over. I’d love to see them win it all this year.

Well believe it. They’ve been here before and the last stretch of season will not affect anything.
There’s lots of different things to worry about during the season. Especially for these young women. They’ve dealt with some adversity here with being so highly praised all the time a couple months ago. They lose a few and everyone counts them out.
But when you receive the path given to you by the committee, you know exactly what all you need to do to win it all. They can finally be free of worrying about hosting and all of that. They’ll win their regional.
