What are the odds he gets bumped to a high four star when they reevaluate the rankings later this year? He rushed for over 1500 yards this past season, and his passing TD's went up while Int's went down.I think he is seriously underrated. Most likely because he is from Arizona, which is not a talent hotbed. But, I feel like he is at least a top 250 player.

On 247 Arizona doesn't even have a 4 star for anyone from the state. He is the number 1 QB there though.

Yeah, he is not competing against elite talent. So despite putting up video game numbers, the rankers probably want to see what he does against better competition. If he get into one of the big all star games and balls out, that could be what they need to see to put him into the top 250.

Maybe they don't even watch him much, because they don't scout the state much.

Hopefully he can get into a big camp, like one of the NIKE ones. I know rankings don't matter, but I still like to see 4 and 5 stars. And, I think he is a four star.

but if he does have true high level 4* ability it would be nice fiscally if he stayed at a 3* rating if that's possible in this day and age. Although it's hard to imagine no one taking a closer look with his "video game #s" plus he'd have to steer clear of the camps-

Forgot to add that even in 2025 they only had four 4 stars overall and none were ranked in the top 100.

Our coaches like him and he has committed. Rating irrelevant as such it doesnt change how good he may be. As I've said before Brian Dawkins was a throw in after Sapp campaigned for him. Renfrow was a walk on. I see why some worry about ratings. I dont. The coaches know what they are doing and who they are offering

Our staff knows how to recruit and recognize what they want. A bunch of reporters rating guys may or may not know squat.

This is where I see the Covid effect and those several cycles where in-person visits were limited or banned altogether. Our recruiting classes rated exceptionally well historically - results on the field following not so much. We were hamstrung in one of our better assessment areas - the intangibles - which don't show up in any ratings service. The 2023 class was the first since 2020 where we were back to full strength there, and our trajectory is now similarly aligning.

I agree… I think Covid really put us behind in recruiting. We have to get the guys on campus to evaluate them properly.

And get in their homes as well to best assess what kind of foundation they're operating from. Part of Dabo's secret sauce.

It would be interesting to know how many 5 stars we’ve had that didn’t live up to their potential vs how many 3 and 4 stars developed into successful NFL players. I’m just not a huge fan of the ratings kids have coming out of HS. Too many variables.

If his commitment is a done deal I wouldn’t want some stupid rating to drive what we have to pay a student athletes price up if he’s coming here anyway.

DJU was the #1 rated QB slightly over Bryce Young. That didn’t work so well. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out with Tait.

If you have ever lived in that area, you know that most of the HS teams are made up of short, squatty Hispanic kids and Tait towers over most of them. Every once in a while, he will see some D1 level talent but not very often. Coming to Clemson will be a big shocker for him and he will probably need some adjustment time to get use to the size and speed he will see here. Looks like he has a lotsa talent, though, and could be a special player after he develops.
