Was Peter Buck's dad...Pete. Great guy, brilliant mind...was forever making references to their songs. Sadly, he passed away just before REM really exploded! :(

Short story...
I actually knew Michael Stipe ... he lived , no lie : 3 doors down, from my buddy Robert Rosenberg who was sound technician for Lamb of God later after this early to mid 80's time frame.

But also I would mess with Michael , stopping by his front door and specifically stating "Hey Mike I'm 3 doors down" ... he knew I was always joking around, but he did have that edge about it also lol... all those (so-called)grung bands during that time frame, competed with each other. Michael Stipe was a cool laid-backed dude..

Great song recorded on old analog equipment but still stands the test of time. She was incomparable. One of the best and taken too soom
