9-4 in 2023 was Dabo Swinney's worst season since 2010. Prior to 2010, The Tigers would reach nine wins just seven times in the previous 20 seasons:
1990: 10-2
1991: 9-2-1
1993: 9-3
2000: 9-3
2003: 9-4
2007: 9-4
2009: 9-5

It was a tie with Virginia.
Which felt like a win for the Tiger Faithful after a big win the previous week against Georgia Tech.
I of course was watching that game at the ripe old age of 1.

Tommy had a few 9 win seasons. He wasn't a terrible coach and almost pulled Gronk.
Most importantly he's a big reason why Dabo is here!

only had 11 game seasons .. no champ game.. and not nearly as many bowl games.
Magic number i remember from those days in college was 8 wins to get into a bowl.. maybe 7... it was a long time ago.

in 75 we beat Ga and GT at Clemson. Won 7. Didn't sniff a bowl because there werent 75 of them back then. A far cry from today
