Runs did not count against his ERA, because he gave up other pitchers runs after he relieved them. In two straight games near end of season, he walked the first batter he faced that led to loss, and then another one he gave up hit. Last night means 4 of his last 5 games he has been shaky!

He left with 101 pitches which is getting up there for sure, but (like I said, in hindsight) since he'll get a week or so to rest now, I'd like to have seen him get 10-15 more pitches instead of going to the pen in that situation.
But, honestly, this is our main problem this year ... we have to make decisions like this because there is absolutely no one in the bull pen that you can count on in the crunch.
Bringing in Krall to secure the win certainly proves this more than anything.
