Maybe he is better than Biden in the end? Maybe a shakeup does some good in certain areas of government? We will see.

You didn’t see what kind of person Trump was during the past four years? In addition to the four years he was in office? Hello?
You still need to see “what he does”?
The guy is a fraud. POS. Narcissist.
If he was your neighbor you wouldn’t vote for him to be dog catcher. You would get tired of him suing you. You wouldn’t even talk to him. No sane person would.
Millions of Americans knew he was a dirtbag con artist 40 years ago in the 80s.
The rest of America is gullible or stupid or both.
If you’re waiting to see what he does, he has succeeded in conning you.
LMAO.

He is a fraud. He is a POS. He is a narcissist. He is a terrible human being. All that said, yes I want to see what the results are. I know who he is. I don't know the results of what type of a job he will do as far as bottom line in the end. That's what nobody knows yet. We will see. There will be positives and negatives. We will know down the road what the end results are.

Of all the POS things he’s done, he just keeps doing them. No one holds him accountable. Just this week, fight Denmark for Greenland, fight Panama for the canal, suspend funding for all federal grant programs (not just SNAP or WIC, but that includes programs like Meals on Wheels for seniors, phukkin Medicare reimbursements to the states). He and his team are shidbag people.
I think I saw on here where you gave up the drankin’, good on ya mate. Has nothing to do to do with the above, just a congrats.

We will see. Let's see when it all sorts out. I think there will be plenty to clean up and some things that are improved. I don't know how all of the chips are going to fall as far as the big picture. I don't know if there is going to be more good than bad yet or vice versus. Let's see. I think it's good that the Dems have to think about the road they were on and their approach to politics. There's a start to something good.

Lester , I saw a previous poster said you quit drinking. Good for you!! Just wanted to encourage you in that. Also wanted to say it’s well documented that you don’t like Trump. But I’ve noticed you are fair and willing to give it some time to see if he does a good job. You also post without the personal insults that we offer see from some posters. It’s refreshing.

I appreciate that. Yeah, drinking was a major problem for me, which I have worked on. I have only drank a few times in the last 6 months. That helps. I had a lot of death, health issues for sec, family issues, as well as a dog dying that I loved. It kind of changed how I view things. This life is all very temporary. The not being wasted when all the bad happens helps how I treat others around me when things are bad or frustrating. Drinking when things are frustrating or bad is just doubling down. Anyway, yeah it's good look inward and try to be better. Like I posted on here before, Do you want the words the words that come out of your mouth to make the world better or worse? I still blow it and say things. It's hard not to be competitive or to call out somethings. Just trying to work on being more balanced in my last 1/3 or so part of my life. As far as Trump, I am trying to separate who is as a person and to call it fairly by results and facts. Kind of like I am on a jury.

Great post! I love the introspection about the alcohol and events in life. I don’t drink and really never have. But I have a 58 year old brother who is a life long alcoholic. He will not live much longer due to the destruction of his health. So, again, good for you! All the best!!

He did not suspend federal funding for any individual benefits, that includes WIC, SNAP, Medicaid, Social Security, and Medicare. Meals on wheels won’t be canceled either. You just repeated some you heard from an alarmist. Maybe you should go watch the press conference yesterday where his press secretary explained it.

“By the late afternoon, states including Alabama, Maryland, North Carolina, Oklahoma and South Carolina all confirmed they had regained access to the portal, but some reported ongoing issues.”
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote on X on Tuesday afternoon that the White House was “aware of the Medicaid website portal outage” but had “confirmed no payments have been affected — they are still being processed and sent.”
“We expect the portal will be back online shortly,” she added.
This was in article you posted. No payments were affected and the portals were down for hours. Misleading headline.

4 out of 50 states’ healthcare providers report they’ve regained access, others having ongoing issues.
This is what happens when the least qualified people are put in place to run a government. Enjoy the circus…they have a lot of clowns.

with a different skin color. You cheered on Trump emptying the prisons of violent criminals because they committed that violence in his name.
And I do support generally what Trump is trying to do on immigration, he is deporting a few extra per day so far, and he is more importantly seemingly tightening up the border, which is why I called that out in my post. And while that’s good that doesn’t really affect me.

It does impact you though. At least it did. It's part of the reason we have Trump. Getting Trump will serve some good no matter what imo. It will get the Dems to adapt their message and focus more on basic issues. It's like when Hillary ran talking about Syrian refugees too much. Dems this past time with end of democracy and gender issues. People just want kitchen table issues from the Dems. Trump might lead Dems to doing that. I completely dislike Trump. Let's call it as it goes and see what happens. I have no faith in him, but I still have to wait and see.

towards the center. And yes, all of it affects me in some existential way, but my point was Trump is not doing anything that is focused on the kitchen table issues that normal Americans care about. He’s spent most of his time focused on gender, DEI, renaming bodies of water and mountains, and personal vengeance/grievance, outside of the little bit of good he has done on immigration.

Well, his administration is starting with low hanging fruit with DEI and the illegal issues. He knows that helps him with the masses. We will see what he does in the end when he has to dig in deeper to other issues.

Trump is probably President again because of Biden and Mayorkas gaslighting the country over border security and illegal immigration.
I don’t care for Trump. He shoots from the hip and creates completely unnecessary BS by addressing what should be private diplomacy or not even a topic of discussion, see Greenland and the Canal.
He shouldn’t have freed the violent criminals from the Jan 6th event. That wasn’t a mistake as Graham said, but an intentional act of putting violent anarchists back on the street.
I’ll support things that he gets right and criticize those that he gets wrong and will hope it all turns out as a net positive.
Everything he has done and will do isn’t stupid. Most Americans believe we were on the wrong track under Biden. I’m not convinced Trump is the engineer we want driving Train America, but he will be that guy for the next 4 years, so I hope all of our lives improve.
I am convinced Kamala wasn’t the answer, but also believe Trump probably isn’t what we need either.
It’s a shame there wasn’t a good viable 3rd option, but since Trump is my President and everyone’s President on this site, let’s wait and see where we are in 4 years.
It may be worse, it may essentially be the same or it may be better, but everyone would be well served by accepting the will of the people and chill somewhat as this is a marathon not a sprint.

I’ve actually been critical of Trumps decision to do a blanket pardon for Jan. 6th. Those who were found guilty of actually attacking Capitol police or destroyed federal property shouldn’t have been pardoned. 1,500 people didn’t attack police. I do believe some of the non violent protesters were overcharged and over sentenced.

I am with you and part of that. I think if you were part of that mob and went charging in there and helped overwhelm law enforcement that 6 months or a year is a slap on the wrist considering what was going on that day, the intentions, and the fact that it was out Capitol. I would give someone 6 months for helping loot a Foot Locker.
