I was lucky to find a good parking spot on high ground, under a nice live oak tree., Sucker looks like it has been there for 100 years. Its low-hanging branches should form a nice canopy to protect my luxury muscle car.
#smarterer than hurricane Milton.

We should have nuked that thing a few days ago and you wouldn't have had to outsmart this beast.

Someone near my house here in Easley parked their work truck beside an oak tree like you described and when the oak tree fell during Helene the tree missed the truck. However the root system was so massive it threw the truck up in the air 10 to 15 feet and the truck has been stuck sitting on the root ball since the storm. It’s a sight I have never seen.

Great idea. Does the tree look something like this?
The locals thought this one was 200 years old

'97 . BY any chance was Professor Book at Clemson in 70's, he taught Statics 2, must have been in his 70's when I attended.

Don't know Book. I was there under Dean Harlan McClure and an array of "professors." I'd have to check the yearbook. Looking back, if I had to do it over, I would have opted for the Building Construction track vs. design. I'm just happy that I did grunt work for MCRP grad students for a semester, and had a standing offer for a grad fellowship from Planning Dept. head, Ed Falk, and took him up on it when I was discharged from AF due to a congenital spinal condition that no doc ever found prior to that. I would have made the USAF a career, but the Big Guy from above had something else in mind for me. It all turned out well. Are you near Milton?

I graduated Arch, class of '77, and had Book for Steel and Concrete. He was brilliant, bow tie and all, but was also more than a little crazy. "Stress - Force over an Area!, Stress - Force over an Area! " and on and on for almost 15 min. We thought we might need to call the white coats in..... He was a piece of work, but I can still figure moment, shear, section modulus, deflection, etc. Norman B. was the best.

more than a little crazy, he got even crazier as he got older, ran for the department when i was there. He was a fun teacher though, I probably learned more in his class than any of the other building science courses.

Don’t worry, all this talk of wind and rain and more intense storms and climate change it’s all a scam put on by left wing woke libtards.
I suggest you listen to the Marjorie Taylor Green weather forecast instead. She can protect you.
If you do lose power, don’t worry just use your diesel Ford truck to power your cell phone.
And when this pansy little storm passes, go ahead and rebuild for the fifth time in 10 years in the same spot. You are American so you therefore have the right to keep rebuilding on your land and let insurance companies pay for all the rebuilds. Hold your ground.
Just keep praying and also vote for Trump. Trump will protect all of us, except the Americans that are woke and he doesn’t need to protect them cuz they’re woke.
