lets say joe blow is a clemson booster

Jul 1, 2021, 10:35 PM

and sees player A needing some food for his apartment..and buys that kid some groceries..would that still be a violation...not even asking via personal experience..just curious how the nil affects that long standing horse crap that the ncaa had levied on players and boosters

May be happening already

In all schools. It is a matter of how sophisticated it is garbed.
This is much like our days in classroom - it's OK to talk in class but don't get caught ??

This is the big question...

This is supposed to have been addressed but I haven't seen any fine print or heard an explanation of fine print on this issue, yet.

Give it a few more days.

Still against the rules

so confusing. But he can buy a n NIL t-shirt from that player, or a whole box of t-shirts.

Re: Still against the rules

This is correct. As I said in a reply last night, nothing's really changed on that. You still can't do what was illegal before. NIL just allows the players to be paid through sponsorships, autographs, video games and stuff like that. You STILL can't just give a player $20 for a bite to eat or whatever.

So the booster can't outright buy his $50 groceries

but CAN give him $50 to autograph a napkin?

You can buy the merchandise off campus.
