Because he was sorta local . Had the offer been made between Clemson and Davidson I'd shudder to think that a kid would choose the Wildcats over them Tigers.

I live about 10 minutes away from the school; its downtown is a lot like Clemson was like 50 years ago. Maybe he wanted to stay close to the family’s multimillion dollar lake Norman house.

Steph Curry was not recruited by anybody in college I heard on the radio the other day he walked on at Davidson and that was his only offer .
