stay in ACC because of NIL

No way we can compete in NIL world with bigger schools. But can go to CFP most years by dominating ACC. With 12 teams, will have to take ACC champ and other ACC schools don't have support to match us.
NIL world is still new and does not guarantee success.

Lining up against UGA, TX, TAM, ALA etc. is not going to be sustainable for the Tigers in the NIL & Portal Worlds if the current philosophy is not changed ~dramatically~ in TigerTown. I would love to see the future schedule of some other teams other than the ACC bottom feeders AND the big paydays that are out there, but the Tigers can certainly get to the playoffs on a regular basis with where they are.

Yeah, I don’t know how little ole Clemson is going to compete with behemoths like TX. We were only in the game in the 4th quarter on their home turf with one of our more average teams in the past 10 years…

I would prefer teams like Clemson form a separate league and let these SEC/Bic10 bunch spend themselves into bankruptcy.

I wouldn’t want to go to the cfp unless we are competitive. We won’t be competitive unless we even the playing field, and that’s going to require exiting this sorry excuse for a conference.

I think if we give the current CFP format 5 years it will level out. Players don't necessarily follow big TV money. They will however jump at a better chance of playing in the CFP. So the other conference are weak...the selling point to a player is playing weaker teams will make your stats looks alot better....eventually it all sifts out to the conference being more even. I am probably wrong so I',m Just Sayin'

If money is no longer the biggest issue it makes a ton of sense to stay in the ACC. You can say what you want about the Big10 or SEC, but if we go there we might find ourselves struggling to ever get into the play-offs.

2 things about this article...
1. The money available 12/10 when this was published may not be what was "available" when player were being procured via college FA Draft (recruiting) or college free agency (Portal)
2. 2 of the biggest booster lead schools are not listed (of 12 total in the playoff)
Are they comparing apples to apples? Doesn't seem like it

it's every other sport we field. You can only spend so much on one sport, its coaches, facilities, NIL, etc. And with colleges out there all being non-profits also, you can't really hoard profits and pay out dividends to shareholders - it all goes into the programs. Basketball, baseball, soccer, gymnastics, you name it - all at risk as things stand today.
