FYI. I Don't know about other parts. But just saying this as a warning. Central S.C. has recently became a speed trap. So if you're going through on game day, or any other time... watch your 6.

Troop 6 hq is in goose creek...Berkeley county. Not sure what county central is in but that's not troop 6.

When I was in school 20 years ago they always had school bus stings, speed traps, and cops hiding on that road up to the Summit Apartments that had a 25-30mph speed limit.
I think most of their budget came from harassing college students.

For goodness sakes slow down when you go through Carlisle ...... between Whitmire and Chester ..... goes from 55 to 35 and you better be going 35 when you pass the speed limit sign. All the deer hunters are aware of this!

Problem lately in Central, they decided to do a yoyo with the speed limit. That plus having Rosco Pecotrain and his slu of deputies patrolling makes it "fun."

Many of these small towns, especially ones in N.E. Georgia have installed these solar powered cameras that check the speed of the vehicle and take a picture of the vehicle showing the license plate. The only way you find out you were speeding is when you get the bill in the mail for $100++ from some company in Tennessee.I think they fired all the cops and installed these robots to raise money for the town.

The last ticket I got was dismissed.
Transferred it out of city court to Superior court for a Jury trial. My good attorney friend made motion for speedy trial in front of full 12 man jury. Notified court that he would require presence of manufacturer tech, service tech, traffic engineer in permit, along with a whole pile of stuff. Solicitor told him "we don't have time for this S..t." and dismissed it with prejudice.

generating revenue and spending money that does not exist. Larceny and burglary can be excused by DA's -- speeders not so much. Not being wealthy can be a hardship to many with Govts plotting to generate more revenue from its citizens.
