Song Intros

Apr 2, 2021, 11:46 AM

Driving home yesterday, “Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress” by The Hollies came on the radio. With that terrific intro, it got me to thinking about songs with great recognizable intros. Here are a few others in no particular order:

“Hotel California” – The Eagles
“Foreplay / Long Time” - Boston
“Taking Care Of Business “ – BTO
“China Grove” – The Doobie Brothers
“My Girl” – The Temptations
“Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy” – The Tams
“Black Magic Woman” – Santana
“Call Me The Breeze” – Lynyrd Skynyrd

Yes, I'm old. But not as old as Joe21®

Got any more?

I clicked on this expecting a baseball post.

"Baseball intro songs" is actually a fantastic search to find some songs that would fit with your post.

More and more they are leaning away from the older music in your list, but you can still find music from all genres played in ballparks across the country as guys are walking to bat.

My middle school son pitches and loves to warm up to:
“Gimme Shelter” Rolling Stones
“Start Me Up” Rolling Stones
“Sweet Home Alabama” Lynyrd Skynyrd

His walk up song has been “Power” Kanye West, the cleaned up version. Most of the kids/players these days love this music. It’s gets them pumped up.

Also good:
“Copperhead Road” Steve Earle
“Let’s Go Crazy” Prince
“Cochise” Audioslave
