No one is falsifying records, rewriting all of the books, etc.
Removing something that confers honor upon someone or something is very different from erasing all references to that person or thing.
Orwell was talking about the latter, which isn’t happening. The only people suggesting such a thing are those who have resorted to the slippery slope argument, because they’re upset that we will no longer be honoring people who believed blacks shouldn’t have equal protection under the law.

It's sort of a horrible realisation that our fan base is such backward people. There were people here actually posting about their disgust about the female coach adopting a child with her female partner or calling protesters rioters or terrorist. It just shows me people that have never traveled the world and lived in different places and met and have gotten to know different people from different cultures and walks of life. They have just stayed in the on little worlds, scared and afraid.

If changing the name of a building is “falsifying a record” then wasn’t that also true when it was renamed “Tillman”? We are just correcting that record to the original truth by changing it back to Old Main.
