Duke had the number 2, 3, 4, 20, and 27 players in the nation. We beat them by 8 with our starting 3-point specialist down with an injury. Duke might be the basketball equivilant of Texas A&M football.

Don't get carried away with your thoughts. Duke may be down this year but they will be back in the top 5 shortly.

did the AD choose him or did coach K have input on who. I figured they would go for more HC experience that Scheyer.

Great behind the scenes story was written recently. Duke prez and AD wanted the Amacher Harvard coach and coach K wanted Scheyer.

Coach k pitched a fit and said that Amacher would need to step down at Harvard and be his assistant for a year and that he couldn’t promise how that would effect the dynamics because already told Scheyer that he was going to be the next head coach.

They relented and let coach k have his pick.

I don’t care how great you are, you should never get to pick your successor unless you are the AD or university president

You do realize a&m had a losing record and Duke was ranked, right? One of the dumbest comparisons I've seen on this site.

Really lame take. All the freshman take time to jell regardless of their star rating. There is no signs of the out of control program we see at aTm.
