a Heisman front runner this season so he must be good. All I can go on is stats. Threw for a ton of yards (4,052) last season. But finished 42nd in the country in Pass Efficiency and 64th in YPC. ESPN lists 34 "carries" for the season for a noteworthy -38 yards. So...not mobile?

It does appear that LSU has picked up some really good receivers from the portal, so I will imagine that will make a big difference.

Like I said, I have no idea. I'm not saying "I'm not worried" (except that I don't really worry about games or opponents in general), but I do think are biggest issue is usually mobile QBs, and he is not. At night in Death Valley against this defense (I mean...I think? New DC so again, we shall see) for a QB that can't evade that well...that all bodes well for Clemson.

Anyone who actually has seen him play (or the new WRs) have some insight? Great accuracy? Great decision making? I'm sure this has been discussed but I haven't been spending a ton of time on the board and I'm intrigued about a Heisman candidate coming into Death Valley to start the season.

The 1st and 2nd QBs drafted next April will be playing on 8/30 in Death Valley.

That's cool, but like, what are his strengths?

Threw for lots of yards and a lot of touchdowns last season, but other stats were "okay". But without watching the games, I am obviously clueless. Is he just really accurate and now has better WRs? Quick decision maker? What makes him a top 2 pick in the NFL draft, in your opinion?

I more so said first two QBs...not top two pick. No telling what the draft order is going to look like and what crap team is going to be picking in the top. Could very well be Chicago, Tennessee, and New England who all just drafted their starter.

But he has a strong arm, quick release, and has history playing in a traditional pro style offense combine that with the fact that there isn't really any other sure prospect

4 offensive linemen lost to the nfl off last year's team. First game against a talented defense with an outstanding new defensive coordinator.

Everything I find says he is 6'2" 200lbs. Not very big, but I've had SEC fans says he's bigger than that. Regardless, QBs who don't move their feet well and lack elusiveness tend to panic more easily.

This guy suggests he may lack the athleticism to manage the pocket well and escape which can cause him to lose some confidence in the pocket over the course of a game when the defense brings pressure.

In one part they show him as a 6'1.5" recruit in high school.

solid QB but not a world-beater. He has significant weaknesses in his game (footwork and mobility) and will be playing in Death Valley at night against a very staked defense with a lot of new OLinemen. That is a lot. Like I said before, I worry much more about mobile QBs. No doubt he'll get his completions but I just don't know that he's the type of QB that gives us fits for 60 minutes.

But we shall find out soon enough.

LSU might have a difficult time playing man coverage much with Cade's speed

and our plethora of receivers and we may not have a difficult time playing man.

My job, as I see it, between now and the game, is to figure out how we win. So, I'm focused on weaknesses. <img border=">

So, that guy's take is that Nussmeier is a paperweight (I guess we knew that) and he's too jittery in the pocket, but he has good arm strength and accuracy. Cool.

And I was focused on their newfound WR talent. I didn't realize they lost FOUR OLinemen to the draft last year. That's nuts. I was looking at OurLads to see what they project for OL they are indeed somewhat young. RS SO and RS FR. Again, that's great against our DLine in Death Valley at night when no one can hear anything. That is a TON of pressure.

He had real good o line to protect him. But lost most of them to the draft. They do have some good ones behind them, but it depends on how well they block on their first games as starters. O line usually isn't plug and play so I'm hopeful that losing that much talent and cohesion causes them at least a few problems. I'm thinking a lot of 5 yard penalties for movement.

LSU has big time quality athletes at every position, we have big time quality athletes at every position and hopefully the crowd will be the difference. The game is between 2 great programs and will be a 60 minute war.

Our D-line is the hammer in this game if we're to have a chance to win.

If we let Nussmeier sit in the pocket and wait for his receivers to get open, his arm will likely kill our secondary.

OTOH, if we get pressure often on him, we'll get sacks, picks and perhaps fumbles.... and we'll control the game.

Our front 7 needs to control the game. If they do, we win.

There's also the possibility that our passing game can run wild on LSU, just like theirs could run wild on us is we don't get constant pressure on Nussmeier. The same is true for both QBs as Cade and our WRs could likely burn their secondary just as well (if not better).

So, if neither team gets pressure on the QB, the game could turn into a track meet.

Strong arm , limited running skills...throws well from the pocket , and not very well if things break down and he vacates.
He can hand the ball off as well as anybody though (^-^)/
