totally forgotten that little humiliation. The truly amazing thing is, Clemson had "called off the dogs" early in the 4th quarter, or the score would have been much worse.

just about every year now.
Remembering the good ole days is so much better than living in the present.
Lest you forget your head coach punted being down 10 with less than 4 minutes to go last year, or it could have been worse (see, I can do it too).

Well, the really good news is that Clemson fans

actually do have a past they can be proud of.
And despite the fact the Tigers dropped six turnovers (seven if you count the 4th down offsides call late in the game) and still had the score tied in the 4th quarter. Turnover-wise, the Tigers played poorly, but I was very proud they didn't give up. Plus if living in the present will include consecutive (thrice) 10 win seasons and probably going to the Orange Bowl, I suppose us Clemson fans will have to consolve ourselves with just that.
Turns out though, that pretty much the only difference between the chickens season and the Tigers season was your home field victory over the Tigers. I've said congratulations to enough chickens to pass muster in any good manners formation.
Still, either A) you're classless enough to keep coming on Tigernet wanting to "rub it in".....or
B) You still need validation for that 5th consecutive victory and you keep coming back to boost your confidence in that Brave New World called the present---its difficult for Clemson fans to understand how being second rate both academically and athletically forever affects the beliefs and mannerisms displayed by every chicken fan in the world

on the short bus might say. To answer your question, No, not Clemson fan is proud of that loss or of any other, but just in case your math skills as pathetic as your judgment, the point differential was greater in the 63-17 game than it was in the loss to WVU in that Orange Bowl.
Sport, do you really want to play the history card with a Clemson fan??? I mean, IMMEDIATELY a Tiger fan can rattle off 65 reasons why you shouldn't

Any rational football fan would agree with him
If USC beats Tenn loses to Clemson still gets to SEC Champ game
Much bigger deal in the future of the program
Just as most Clemson fans would take a win over top 10 FSU team this year to be playing for a ACC champ over a loss to USC
Unfortunately Clemson lost both this year so it is tougher to be rational.
USC fans have dealt with that for 20 years being in the SeC where they lose a shot or never had a shot at the SEC champ game and lost to Clemson. Not a good place to be for either team

It's unthinkable to be happy with beating your rival, but still disappointed about not going to Atlanta? Unlike Clemson, South Carolina has to earn their way into Atlanta. One game doesn't dictate it like it does in the ACC. Face it, you lose to FSU and Clemson is out.
But they still get a BCS bowl because they're in the ACC, so I guess that's something. Even though Duke is in their conference championship.

Another history reference. Tell me, when was the last time Duke beat SC...1982? that record is 10-3-1 since 1975. We don't deny the struggles we've had in the past, but have done a pretty good job of getting by it and moving on. The only people that think it relevant are the fans of teams that can't handle losing with regularity to the new breed of Gamecocks on the field these days.

Spurrier has done a very good job at USC. He has brought the program from a noncontender in the SEC to a team that is in the hunt. Lattimore and CLowney were also huge hauls for him and the university. Probably should stop griping about Spurrier and get over it - Alabama is on the radar (orange bowl).

One game doesn't decide it?

So a win against UGA or Tenn wouldn't change the post season for USC? One game does change it no matter what conference you are in. Scary SEC included.

Actually, I would say that the future looks pretty bright for USC. Those bowl tie ins you mentioned are not very accurate - i.e. the rose bowl is not a reality for CU or USC, orange is second ACC versus second SEC (this year) and Bama is going to ring your bell in a major way in that one. Keep in mind USC is in a great conference where bowl entries are a lot more competitive than only FSU and CU are in the maligned ACC - the ACC championship will be another laugher this year. SEC this year already has Mizzou, Auburn, Alabama and USC who are legitimate teams who can be considered for good bowls - a much better menu than CU and FSU. FSU spanked the tigers and so did USC. Spurrier mailed Saban the Dabo can of whoop a$$ today, signed by Jimbo Fisher and Spurrier - two great coaches who love to stomp the tigers. I know the thumb hurts but deal with it.
