Kind of odd. I feel like they would be pretty good in both of them considering location.

With the jump to the ACC, would definitely make sense

Currently their women's sports outnumber men's at SMU 10 to 6. However, something tells me they'd have to add another women's sport alongside softball to justify adding a sport on the men's side. Plus, the other issue will be new facilities...big issue w/ campuses smack dab in a built-up urban area, no space to build.

Excellent campus with Football and track on campus along with the George W Bush Presidential Library on campus, but NO space for baseball and softball. Small student body, Seminary and performing arts center packed in the best neighborhood area in Dallas.
I still can’t believe they are in the ACC, but I like it. Football, Basketball, Soccer and Track are their main men’s sports.

with only about 12,000 students (both undergrad and graduate students). Similar to the University of Miami, the campus is pretty well land locked so adding new athletic facilities on campus (i.e., a baseball and softball stadiums) probably isn't a feasible option. Maybe they could knock down the George W. Bush Presidential Library to make room for new athletic facilities.

With Stanford and Cal it keeps it an even number still (16 teams) since Syracuse doesn't either.

They certainly have the money if they decide to add both sports.
